The girl in the alleyway

Chapter 7

I stood quietly and still in the middle of the old abandoned apartment.I heard the crunch of a wrapper and I spun around so quickly I thought I lost my vision.None was there.I looked around cautiously but still there was none.Fluffy started barking out o f nowhere and I jumped at the sound."woof woof!" He barked." Ahhhhhhhh!"."You scared me fluffy" I told him anxiously."I looked towards the spot where he was barking at.The stairs?He must have noticed something off about them because I started getting that off feeling.I made a decision to go up the stairs and explore the second floor of the abandoned apartment building.

Tip toe tip toe.You could hear the creak of my pale white sneakers hitting the old wooden stairs.I reached the second story of the apartment building and it was worse than the first.The walls were painted black from the fire damage like the a black starry night.The corners of the walls had yellow and green sections of mould forming in there.A foul smell danced around the room ticking my nose as it went.As I went to go look around the second story suddenly I noticed that Fluffy was barking again.He was barking at the last set of stairs this time.I figured he wanted me to go up them again like last time but that wasn't the case.he started whimpering and backing away from the stairs.I ignored the obvious signs and continued to go towards the stairs.Just as I was about to go up the stairs Fluffy ran away."Fluffy hey come back here" I yelled.I chased after him and was able to catch up and calm him down."Hey hey Fluffy it's okay it's alright.he stopped whimpering and I went back to the third set of stairs."This time please don't run away from me Fluffy" I said to him.he whimpered a bit but continued to stand strong as we climbed the stairs to the third apartment floor.

I reached the top of the stairs with Fluffy by my side.There was none here.Or so I thought.I looked around everywhere but there was none in sight.I turned around to go home thinking he didn't show up but just like in the alleyway he appeared out of nowhere right at the top of the flight of stairs blocking my way."Ahhhhhh" I screamed." you really need to stop doing that sir" I told him."Yea and you need to learn to be more quiet kid ."wow what way to start of the conversation man" I said to him."Hey listen up kid I brought you here for a reason now shut up and listen" he said abruptly."Ok"? I said to him."First things first" He said."Are you alone"?" Um yes why" I asked." never mind that.First don't call me Mr. It's weird and I don't like it; second you need to be more quiet when your with me because I heard you as soon as you entered;and third why did you bring the dog"? He finally finished."Well he was abandoned and I couldn't leave, that would be mean and I had none with me" I told him." You shouldn't have brung the dog, you could have just left him but alright" he replied." Now let me get to the point of why I brung you here"."I know I might sound a bit crazy saying this out of the blue to basically a random stranger but I'm your dad".My mouth dropped." What!?"."I know I know It sounds crazy I only just met you in an alleyway yesterday and now I'm saying I'm your dad but here me out ok".I was speechless but I decided to hear his excuse.
