The tremendous singing of birds is what woke him from his deep slumber. Feitan slowly opened one of his eyes, yawning and stretching his arms up into the air. He felt a little groggy but that was to be expected considering his lack of sleep most nights. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. Feitan suddenly realised where he was as he saw the giant tree in the lake. He was still in the Dangereux forest in the same place he used to visit when he was a little kid. He turned his gaze downwards, seeing that he had Shalnark's jacket on him. He froze. He blinked. His eyes widened. Oh wait, that was right. Feitan let himself smile a little as the memories from last night began to return to him. He had finally told Shalnark that he loved him. The best part of it all? Shalnark felt the same way back. A cosy and warm sensation filled his entire chest. It was comforting. It made him feel something he never had before. His smile widened and his eyes sparkled in the light. Feitan held Shalnarks jacket close to his face as a sudden question came to mind. What was this feeling? It was like he was free of chains weighing him down to the ground. Was this what happiness felt like?
"Good morning, my lovely Fei!"
Feitan lifted his head to see Shalnark walking towards him. The blond wore a large grin that could easily outshine the brightest light in existence. It took only a second for Feitan to realise what Shalnark had called him. My lovely Fei... He thought to himself. The happiness within him grew as he kept repeating those words in Shalnarks voice in his head. My lovely Fei, My lovely Fei, My lovely Fei- Feitan was so indulged in his own thoughts he almost forgot to respond.
"Good morning."
He chirped, wrapping himself tighter in Shalnarks jacket. Shalnark was shocked at the sudden change in Feitan. Shocked but in a good way. He stopped in his tracks.
"I've never known you to be so happy before."
He commented as he looked into Feitan's bright eyes.
"I never felt like this before. It odd to me, but I like. I think It because we now together. I have love you for a long time, Shalnark. So I am happy that you feel same way."
Feitan replied as he pulled Shalnarks jacket towards his face. He breathed in Shalnarks scent. It was sugary sweet. Like the taste of a strawberry lollipop. And Feitan was relishing in every second of it. Shalnark sat down beside him on the soft grass. With his right arm he wrapped it around Feitan and held him close. Feitan felt himself blushing and his heart beat began to race. He wasn't used to this sort of attention. The last time he had been touched in a loving way was when his mother hugged him for the last time. Despite that, his instincts told him to rest his head on Shalnarks arm. So he did.
"Y'know, I've loved you for a very long time as well. Honestly I think it was when we first met. I had hidden my feelings for you to the point I was on the verge of letting it all out at the wrong time. So when you came out and spoke those three words I had been waiting to hear for years... I had never felt so happy before. In fact it was the happiest moment of my life."
Shalnark told Feitan as the two watched the lake in front of them. Feitan closed his eyes and took calm breaths in and out.
"Well, when you reply with you love me back... That were the happiest time of my life."
He opened his eyes and gazed at the birds flying towards the giant tree. They landed gracefully on their feet as their little feathered wings stopped flapping. Shalnark and Feitan both listened as they sang beautifully. It was as if they were singing a song of love for the newfound couple.
RING RING RING!
They flew away at the sudden sound of a device ringing. Feitan lifted his head as Shalnark quickly pulled his phone out.
