Jack's POV
I want to talk about the place I mostly spend my time besides our home. Well, usually I tend to spend my time in different places. Like parties, restaurants and so on. All the typical stuff that you can call vagrancy. But there is no life without fun, right?

Though I don't seem like one I always observe people around me. To be honest they all look miserable to me. There are just some kinds of robots that are programmed to live "a better life". Or should I say not live but suffer?

I surely can clarify the kind of life they lead. The one with prohibitions. The same prohibitions that make you feel uncertain about every decision you make in life.

And I know damn well that those are taught in childhood under the name of nurturing.

But for me, it has no significance. It is not nurturing but obsessing. And if your parents are strict as fuck, you know the exact feeling with every fiber of your body.

Isn't that ridiculous that parents always think they choose all the promising things for you in life? If only they could know how much we crave freedom.

I mean look at Jake. He may brag about being a good child but what for? What did he gain instead? Nothing but big future regrets. Of which I am sure he would tear up himself for wasting the best parts of his timeline.

And I try to taste all things in life so that I cannot feel the regret Jake will be feeling one day.

You were supposed to talk about your school remember?

Damn right, I do! I am not exactly a forgetful person. Which I'd give my everything to forget. And what do you think, which one is easy? To remember everything or forget? Or never mind. Let's move on to our school.

I think you can probably imagine that we study in place of the rich. Gotham High. It was funded by The Waynes and my father's company constructed the building.

I must say you barely can find anyone who studies for free in this place. But it doesn't mean there are no exceptions, right?

Though I feel sorry for them. Cause everybody knows how badly the scholarship students are treated.

I sigh as I hear Bruce calling me.
" Jack, are you alright?"

Oh my bad! I forgot to introduce Bruce. Well, he is the only child of the Wayne family I mentioned earlier. He is smart, calculated, disciplined, and shy.

My favorite thing about him is his kindness. I have never seen him brag about his money. Nor do I notice him hurting someone.

He is also generous. When we get to have a chance to run away from school, we always disappear into the dreadful streets of Gotham. So that to help some homeless children. And we surely have learned a lot of stuff from those streets. Even more than we expected.

He is my best friend. Probably my only friend who endures my behavior all the time. So I trust him.

On the contrary, Jake doesn't like him around. I don't know if it is because of jealousy. He doesn't exactly like to share. So he doesn't like to share his brother as well. But of course, I feel flattered that they are quarreling about me, Haha!

" Jack?!" Bruce asks rather annoyed.

" What?!" I try to shake the thoughts from my head.

" I was asking about the science project but you don't seem to be here."

" Oh yeah, screw it," I smirk, " Jake is going to handle it anyway," I take a sip of my coffee.

" But it is not ethical to put everything on his shoulders. This is our group work so our class is responsible for it."
He swipes his hand on his hair.
