It has been a few days since Pamela came to Gotham High. But she managed to get the teachers' attention for a short amount of time. She was responsible and hard-working. And smart indeed. So she was the kind of student every teacher could wish for.
However, she was very lonely. And how she can be not? Everything was new for her. The whole city, school, even people. Everything. And the whole routine was messed up for her. So she had trouble getting used to the new one. Especially when she was already dealing with anxiety.
In a way, Pamela was right. Gotham was very unlike Seattle. Gotham had no kind of living spark. Like every soul was drained. And she has pretty sure heard about the dark side of Gotham as well. Which triggered her anxiety twice considering she is living alone by herself.
And the nights were terrible. Because you never know if you going to make it tomorrow. So Pamela tried to enjoy the city until the sun sets.
But she had no one to interact with. Which she played an essential part in it. It was her own choice to avoid anyone. To prevent herself from getting hurt.
She always wished she had more courage. Always dreamed of being a more socialized person. She has never been. Still, it wasn't only her fault either. Maybe the kind of environment she got raised in forbade her the type of lifestyle she always imagined.
So she was afraid to continue everything in Gotham. Maybe she hasn't meant to be studying among rich and social students. But she knew she had no other choice.
Yet now she was standing in front of lockers. It was still early so no one was present in the school corridor. So she felt comfortable.
She approaches her locker. Her locker was distinguished by being covered with lots of plant paintings. But still, everybody's locker was a different kind. Pamela hasn't had that kind of permission in her previous school. So she liked the freedom school permitted them. At least they let students use their imagination.
She was busy placing her things in order when Selina approached her.
" Hi," Selina smiled, " has been a sleepless night?" she asked winking.
" Oh, hi," Pamela turned to face her, " no, not exactly. I am an early bird."
" I see," Selina says. " How about a coffee? We still have time before the class so maybe we can chat a bit. Girl to girl." Selina suggests.
" Sure, just let me grab my books," Pamela says accepting.
" No, you don't need your bag." Selina stops her.
" Oh, why?" Pamela asks confused.
" The first is drama class. Every Monday we start the day with a drama class." Selina reminds.
" Oh right!" she itched her head in confusion. " I still have trouble memorizing all the schedules."
"No problem, let's go." Selina smiles.
They take their coffees and sit in a cafeteria. It was huge and probably one of the places students were fond of spending time.
" So how do you find the school?" Selina starts the conversation.
" It is wonderful." Pamela simply answers.
" Do I sense the irony?" Selina raises a brow, " you don't interact much. And you are still uncomfortable."
" Yeah, I am," Pamela sighs. " The whole moving thing was all of a sudden. And I hate sudden changes."
" Oh, you mean you didn't want to come to Gotham?" Selina asks in curiosity.
