When the aunt brought the breakfast to the table Kang Tong came down from upstairs sleepily. When he saw Lian Jue at the table his pace obviously quickened.

Hearing the sound Lian Jue lifted his eyes from the tablet and glanced at him: “Don’t run.”

Kang Tong obediently walked over slowly moved his chair away and sat down next to Lian Jue. He called Lian Jue uncle for more than two years before he started to change his honorific towards him which was a little uncomfortable. He blushed and greeted him in a low voice: “Dad, good morning.”

“Morning.” Lian Jue turned his gaze back to the Caijing Morning Post in front of him and took a sip of coffee from his cup.

He was wearing dark blue home clothes and his hair had not been carefully taken care of. The hair was softly draped in front of his forehead and he looked like he had just woke up.

Kang Tong followed his way holding up the cup and sipping the hot milk but his eyes were stuck to him and he didn’t move away: “Did you come back last night?”

“Um.”

Even when Jue didn’t move his eyes when he was speaking Kang Tong originally wanted to ask him if he saw his own paper but he is ashamed. When the aunt brought the sandwiches, he told him: “Mr. has already read your papers. Next time you write your name remember to write your last name.”

Kang Tong’s eyes lit up and he said yes.

After eating breakfast slowly Lian Jue picked up the napkin and pressed it on his lips. He looked at Kang Tong, “What time is it going to school?”

Kang Tong quickly swallowed the half-chewed bread in his mouth and said, “7:40.”

Lian Jue glanced at the time it was still early and then nodded: “I’ll see you off.”

Seeing that he was about to get up Kang Tong wiped his mouth hurriedly and then stood up. After Lian Jue stepped over his chair he pressed lightly on his shoulder: “Sit down and eat. I’ll change my clothes.”

When Lian Jue went upstairs, the aunt came over to clean up Lian Jue’s dinner plate and said with a smile, “The procedures have been completed and Tongtong is going to be registered. Mister, I am very happy.”

Kang Tong rarely sits in Lian Jue’s co-pilot like this.

He was still a little nervously twisting the belt of his schoolbag at first but after Lian Jue said a few words to him, the uncontrollable excitement in his heart soon showed on his face.

“Can I transfer to another elementary school after taking the new account?”

Lian Jue drove the car and didn’t answer. He just asked, “What’s wrong with the school now?”

Kang Tong hugged his schoolbag with his shoulders slumped and said a little awkwardly: “The classmates here seem to be reluctant to play with me. Last week, Lu Mingming celebrated his birthday. I wrote a greeting card to wish him a happy birthday. He was angry. He did not invite me to his birthday party…”

Speaking of this, I have a flat mouth: “I didn’t have to attend his birthday party, that is… the other classmates were invited and no one told me.”

Lian Jue raised his eyes glanced at the dejected child next to him in the rearview mirror and said quietly: “Next time your classmate celebrates his birthday let Auntie or Uncle Liu pick a gift for you.”

Kang Tong pursed his mouth and hummed dully.

Lian Jue parked his car at the gate of Kang Tong’s school: “I will pick you up after school in the afternoon.”
