IF YOOJIN WAS being completely honest, he has never seen his boyfriend run before. Despite the fact that he has witnessed him fight multiple times, do incredible stunts such as jumping off a balcony and doing a backflip, and even riding a horse backwards, he has never seen [M.Name], not even for a little bit.
Sure, he always receives news of him being chased and whatnot, but he has never seen it with his own eyes. He doesn't know if he runs like a chicken, if he runs faster than a car, or if he even runs at all — who knows, the panting and yelling through the phone might just be incredible acting, he wouldn't be surprised if he revealed that to him one day.
But to his utter surprise — and to everyone else — [M.Name] runs incredibly fast. The cartoon character Road Runner probably wouldn't be able to keep up with half of the male's speed, it seemed he's had enough practice for the past five years of his life to learn how to run extremely fast without tripping, swerving perfectly, and stop in a full stop without hurtling against anything.
Yoojin didn't know if being chased has improved his boyfriend's speed or it was just a silly little game to him and a means of torture for the people who willingly chase him down.
[M.Name] was currently in a race against DANIEL PARK, Yoojin could clearly see the pure amusement in his boyfriend's eyes as he ran faster, beating the clueless male not once, not thrice, but six times already for the past two hours. Daniel hasn't given up despite multiple people telling him to just stop already, it was pointless trying to beat the unpredictable male no matter what he does.
Yoojin watched as the taller out of the two had to hold onto the wall beside him, exhaustion and fatigue evident on every part of his body. Daniel was on the verge of collapsing but [M.Name] on the other hand was as fresh as a cucumber, he was sweating slightly but compared to the other, he looked to be in perfect shape.
"L—Let's. . . go one more. . . time! I—I'm sure I'll. . . I'll be able to b—"
Daniel was cut off by Yoojin standing up from the bench by the shade, striding to where they currently were, "That's enough."
"Yoojinie! Was I fast enough?" [M.Name] asked him sweetly, in which the other smiled at before replying with a much sweeter tone, "Of course you are."
From the corner of his eyes, Yoojin could see Daniel rolling his eyes at them but didn't say anything — or couldn't, he was too weak to actually do anything other than lean against the wall and pant to his heart's desire.
And just like that, the two lovers left the poor guy drenched in his own sweat and basking in the heat of the sun, if it weren't for the employees coming up to him and escorting him to somewhere more comfortable then he would've stayed there until sundown.
"Don't you think the eyes are too narrow?" Yoojin pointed at the two slits that were supposed to be the eyes for the pumpkin, "It wouldn't look that good if I put the candle inside later."
He watched his boyfriend hum to himself and take a spoonful of his ice cream, stabbing the spare pumpkin he had on his side as a way to keep the knife somewhere safe. After a minute or two of just quietly eyeing the pumpkin, [M.Name] nodded and took the knife again, "Yeah, you're right. It looks odd, let me fix it."
While [M.Name] went back on carving the flesh out of the pumpkin, Yoojin fed him his ice cream, taking a few bites himself. Hazelnut wasn't really his favourite flavour, he'd much prefer a plain vanilla rather than this abomination, but since his dear boyfriend actually liked it and willingly eats it, he has to deal with it for the rest of their lives.
"Okay! Since you're the perfectionist in this relationship, how does it look?"
[M.Name] turned to look at the taller, a proud grin on his face as he held the orange vegetable directly in front of Yoojin, patiently waiting for his not so honest response. Without much hesitance, Yoojin showed him a thumbs up before smiling, making the other's smile broaden.
"It looks good, do you want me to put the candle inside now?" Yoojin put the empty ice cream cup back on the table, taking the large white stick and a box of matches as he saw the younger nod enthusiastically.
No, it isn't actually Halloween, nor does Yoojin celebrate it, but his boyfriend suggested on doing something fun for the day and pumpkin carving wasn't something he has done before. He now has something to cross out of his nonexistent bucket list, all thanks to his wonderfully mercurial boyfriend.
Yoojin marvelled at the younger's creation, although it was far from perfect, it served enough as a little decorating in their cozy home.
