Even up to the day when everyone decided he was a villain, Rod Summers still adored him.

It was not because he owned the only ocean eyes in town or because he held the most number of medals a student could have in their high school. It was not also because he was demure or because he was the lone freshman to ever achieve a perfect 1.0 grade in all subjects despite being a truant. His adoration for him stretched past his wits and visuals. In fact, he never saw him once. He had only heard and read of him during flag ceremonies, commencement exercises, and on the weekly edition of the only newspaper in town called The Firmcreek Gazette in which his name always made it on the cover page because he wrote the hottest and latest news stories out there.

Jackson Crest. A man of virtue. A name of honor. Achieved so many things at such a young age, and carved his own paths out of his little and humble experiences. But what it only took him was one piece of opinionated article to destroy everything he had-- including the bright future ahead of him.

By the end of February, everyone began hating him. Everyone except for Rod.
