I originally started "the Caste" draft at the end of 2014 before a real can of worms opened in the U.S. in 2016. I put this book on hold for a little while, changed characters' names, re-outlined, changed the name of the first book to Insurrection, picked it back up again in late 2019, and outlined for a second book.
As an all-too-real global pandemic hit in 2020, I put this series back down as things got a little too close to home once again. As we entered into 2021 and the incident of January 6 happened, I considered scrapping this series altogether.
These stories may be close to home and to real-life events, but what Dystopian story isn't? I decided to go ahead with this series because, frankly, I enjoyed writing it. With that being said:
