Purple lover

Chapter 1

I woke up at 6 am, ready to start my first day at my new job. I rolled out of bed and took a quick shower before throwing on a black skirt and white blouse. 

I walked into the kitchen and made myself an iced coffee before leaving for work at 8 am. I walked since it wasn't a long distance from my apartment. 

I found myself staring up at the building that was now my place of work. With a smile on my face, I walked in. I went straight to the front desk where a woman dressed in purple was sitting. 

The closer I got, the more beautiful she became. "Excuse me miss, do you know where I can find Ms. Venable?" I asked politely.

"I am Ms. Venable" she said coldly, standing up from her seat with a cane clutched tight in her right hand. 

I took in her enticing appearance as she towered over me. "You must be Miss Y/L/N, correct?" she spoke. "Yes, Ms. Venable" I said, clearly intimidated. 

"Walk this way" she said. I slowly walked behind her, as she led me to a small office opposite her desk. "This is your office, in here you will do anything I ask of you. Mostly paperwork" she said with a slight grin. I nodded and she led me to the main part of the building.

"This is Jeff and Mutt, the creators of Kinero's Robotics. I work for them, catering for their every need, just as you will do for me" she said amusingly as I saw two men with odd haircuts working at computers. 

"Now if you please, I need you to organise some files for me. They're in your office, please hand them back to me at the end of the day" she ordered.

"Yes, Ms Venable" I nodded and walked immediately to my office, hoping to make a good first impression. 

I sat at my desk and began working through the eight files she had left me. Each had around 100 pages of work in them. I decided it would be best to organise them by date, and then add dividers for the start of each month. 

I was about half way through the files when I heard a knock on the door, "come in" I said kindly, still working on my files. I heard the door open and a cane tapped the ground twice, causing me to look up. 

"I see you are working hard" Ms Venable spoke, still no emotion toyed at her words. "Yes Ms Venable" I gave her a polite smile. 

"It's lunch now, if you would like to take a break?" she said, never once breaking character. I nodded, standing up from my desk. "Would you like to join me?" I asked her, hoping she would say yes.

"No, Miss Y/L/N. No thank you, I am quite alright on my own" she stated. "Are you sure?" I asked again, furrowing my brows at the woman. "Solitude is bliss, Miss Y/L/N" she said, a smile wanting to creep upon her face but she disallowed it. 

I nodded again as she left, her cane tapping against the floor as her figure slowly approached her own desk. I grabbed my bag and headed towards the main doors of the building. "Thirty minutes Miss Y/L/N" she said, not looking up from her computer. 

"Okay" I said quietly. I decided to walk to the small cafe across from the building I noticed on my way here this morning. I went in and grabbed an iced coffee alongside a ham and cheese baguette. 

As I was walking back, I noticed Ms Venable had received a huge package. I put my food in my bag and walked over to her. "Uh, Ms Venable. Do you need any help?" I asked her. She looked up at me, leaning on her cane. "That would be nice, thank you Miss Y/L/N" she said.

I picked up the box for her and carried it inside. "Where would you like it?" I asked. "On my desk would be fine" she sighed. I placed it on the end of her desk and dismissed myself to my own office. 

I sat at my desk and finished my coffee and ate my lunch. 

I saw Ms Venable take a huge jar out of the package, it contained a lot of white powder. "No" I whispered to myself, surely not Ms Venable. Instead of opening the jar, she carried it away, out of my view. I hoped she wouldn't hide it somewhere for her personal use. 

I let out a huge sigh and got back to work.
