Selene
"What the fuck, Selene?" Ace snaps and stands up. "What the fuck are you doing?" He snatches the letter from my hands.
I remain seated on the chair at the side of the bed and look up at him, my eyes watery because of what I just read and because I feel terrible about invading his privacy.
"I- I'm sorry, I-" I stutter. "I was just-"
"Don't," he cuts me off, raising a hand in front of my face as a sign of stop. "Don't say anything. Literally." He lowers his body so that he's almost facing me. "Don't you dare say a single thing to your sister or Michael." He leans forward, his face so close to mine that I have to close my eyes. "If you do, it won't end well for you." I feel his fresh breath on my lips. "Do you...understand?"
I nod frantically, gripping tight the armrests of the chair. "Yes, Ace. I...understand."
"Open your eyes and say it again," he commands.
I do as he says and repeat, "I understand."
He moves away from me. "Good girl."
Oh God. He can't say things like that though. It makes me blush.
"Are you seriously blushing because I said that? After I 'threatened' you?" he shakes his head and scoffs.
I get up from the chair. "Ace, I-"
"Why did you come here in the first place?" he asks me, not letting me talk.
"You weren't answering your phone, I needed to know what time we're going to rehearse tomorrow, 'cause you didn't say anything." I tell him honestly.
He thinks for a second. "And why didn't you leave when you saw I was asleep?"
Because I was attracted to you. But I can't tell him this, I'm only seventeen and he's twenty-four.
He steps closer to me again, the vicinity makes me stumble backwards. "Tell me why, Sel."
Fuck him. He doesn't command me like his puppy. "No. Stop telling me what to do."
My back hits the wall and Ace places his hands by each side of my head. He laughs bitterly. "Oh. It means there's a deeper reason."
I turn my head to the side, not able to look into his eyes anymore. "No, that's not it." Lie lie lie.
"Then what?" he insists. His mouth is only a few inches away from mine. Why does he do this? It's making me crazy.
I put a hand on his hard chest and push him lightly. "Ace, please, don't..."
"...get to close to you because it makes you want to kiss me?" he says.
"Stop assuming things." I pause and look into his eyes again. "And get the fuck away from me!" I push him away with all my strength. He stumbles on his suitcase and falls on the bed.
"What..." he starts to say, confused and startled by my action.
I climb onto the bed and straddle him. It's my turn to put my hands by the sides of his head. My long dark blonde hair brush his cheeks, and his expression makes me laugh.
