Genevieve's never wanted something more than a fresh start, a new life. She knew that was never possible so she often found herself getting lost in the pages of a book.
"Sweetie come on you gotta get ready for school!" She dreaded that sentence every time it would come out of her moms mouth. Each morning, same situation.
She got ready for school, ate, and took the bus as her mom had several meetings that morning. This has become a common thing. Genevieve fearing that her mother might not even notice her anymore.
The school day went by as it always did..until it had came to lunch. She took her spot in her usual hallway with a book in hand and headphones in both her ears to drown out the noise of those who laughed. Then she was off in another reality until two familiar pairs of shoes had walked up to her. It didn't even take her a spilt second to realize who had stepped in front of her.
"Awh look at the little loser, so sad" a boys voice said in a sarcastic voice the other pair of shoes had decided to step into the conversation. "You think your better than everyone..huh? answer me you slut" Genevieve quiet as ever, she turned down her music but kept her headphones on not seeming to give a care in the world. As the boys pair of feet moved forward Genevieve tried moving back. He yanked her up by her shirt knocking over her lunch tray. "Oops, haha" the rest is a blur as she went unconscious, laid out on the floor.
Next thing she knew she was in the councilors office with an ice pack on her eye. "Are you able to tell me what happened out there? her counselor had asked as she was just regaining consciousnesses. Genevieve to afraid to say anything that might turn the bullies in knowing that it will only make the situation worst than it was before. "Well..just so you know we have placed a call to your mother and she should be here in a couple minutes so go grab your backpack and meet me straight here." Genevieve with nothing to say, stands up and goes to her locker. The halls are silent with student filling classrooms, everything around her is spinning, ears ringing, and her head pounding.
She gets her stuff and heads back to the counselor's office where she finds her mom yelling at the principal.
"HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN, TO MY KID, TO OTHER KIDS. ILL BE PULLING OUT MY DAUGHTER FROM THIS SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY" with that Genevieve's mom grabs her by her sleeve and rushes her out of the building. Genevieve already not looking forward to the discussion they will be having in the car.
"mom i'm sorry pretty please with a cherry on top don't be mad at me" Genevieve says maintaining eye contact with her mother. "how long has this been going on" her mom asks. Able to hear the anger in her voice Genevieve reply's immediately breaking down "mom i'm so sorry i should have told you sooner, if- if i would have known things would get this bad I would have told you i swear" it was quiet obvious, the pain in her voice. "oh sweetie come here i'm not mad at you, come on i've got big news to tell you once we get home that might cheer you up"
Authors note: Ok so hopefully this chapters better, still not long so mb but i wonder what the big news might be🤫
