Unknown Pov

Of all the things he has me doing, this has got to be the icing on the cake. Why do I have to find her, he could've sent one of the lower lackeys to find her and they still would've.

Also what is up with him saying she's shielded from view, so Mr All-powerful has a weakness, oh please no sooner would chronos not know how to work a clock than him not being able to see her, his just doing this out of boredom or to get on my nerves, both ideas seem plausible.

"Good day, would you like to order anything sir?"

"No, I'm good thanks, just waiting on someone." I said looking at the lady standing a little to close for my liking.

"Ok, I'll come back later when you're ready to order." She say as she throws me one more flirtatious wink and saunters off, a slight bounce to her step. Are all mortals that easy?

As I watched the blonde harlot walk off I caught sight of of another customer walking into the establishment. She was quite a sight to behold, there was a certain feel about her that told you she wasn't someone to be messed with, and that was something you caught at first glance, it was in the way that she walked, in the way that she squared her shoulders and raised her chin as if ready for any battle she might face and any villian she might encounter.

Then there's the blatant and glaringly obvious point of her beauty, with long locks of onyx black hair that shone in the sunlight like the wings of a raven, framing a pale face drawn taught but fierce, with dark thick eyebrows and slanted brown eyes framed by the longest lashes, she had a pert little nose but the most luscious lips coloured in Burgundy, oh dear, this most certainly won't end well for anyone involved.

Slowly she scanned the restaurant, taking in everything and searching through the sea of patrons until her eyes landed on me. Once she caught sight of me, she started weaving past the tables and chairs all the way to where I sat.

"Hi, um... Are you Thane?"

"Why, yes I am, please have a seat dear."

"Are you British?" She asks, raising a perfect brow at me in question.

"Oh no! I just love how the accent sounds, it's just delightful don't you think?" I couldn't contain the gleeful smile from stretching across the expanse of my otherwise normally dreary face.

"Ok... I was told you knew something about my daughter, please if there's any truth to it I need to know, tell me!"

"I might or I might not, it all depends on you."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

"Well for starters you could start with introducing yourself, I don't believe I've caught your name?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, my name's Katherine, now what did you mean by 'you might or might not know' about my daughter and her whereabouts?"

"Well there are a few questions I need to ask you before we can conclude that it's infact your daughter I'm talking about, you see your story was very similar to a little girl that was found by my boss some time back, however there is another woman also claiming the same, we just don't want to make any mistakes for everyone involved, I hope you can understand where I'm coming from?"

"I guess that makes sense, please ask away, what do you need to know?"

As I sat across from Katherine, I examined her movements, the way she fiddled with her fingers, clearly displaying her nerves, which could mean she's the fake however, when you look into her eyes you could tell she was genuine, she had look of yearning that her eyes conveyed in excess that couldn't be downplayed or waved away. This was the look of a mother yearning for her child.

"Well firstly, let's start with the easy questions. How old would your daughter be this year?"

"She would be 5 years old."

"When she was born, was there anything distinct you can remember about her?"

"She had a birth mark on her left hip bone, it was a little irregular star shape."

"Great, all good so far... Just one more question, what are your thoughts on the Greek gods of Olympus?"

"I'm sorry... What does mythology and my daughter have in common?"

"I guess that answers my question."

This is definitely going to be fun, if he didn't want anything like this to happen then he shouldn't have sent me.

"Come along then, no time to waste." I said standing up from my seat and Katherine followed in my lead

"What! To where? Where are you going?"

"We are going to see your daughter, so just follow me...

Or would you like to finish your tea." I made a gesture to the back kitchen of this dingy restaurant.

"You're a grade A prick, you know that?"

"So I've been told, it's part of my job description."

"What did you say you did again?" She asked, eyeing me surreptitiously.

"I didn't... Say."

We both made to leave when I saw a tiny blonde woman make her way towards us with purpose.

"Katherine, wait up a moment."

"Cathy?"

Katherine turned towards the blonde and started to walk in her direction but I quickly made a grab of her forearm.

"Katherine, we are in a bit of rush, darling."

"Don't get your panties in a twist, I just need a minute." She sneered her words at me like arrows shot from a bow, and tugged her arm loose.

"Okay." I said backing up and holding my hands up in surrender.

"Katherine, were you leaving?"

"Yeah, he said his taking me to see her, my daughter, and look, I know what you're going to say but I have to take the risk, otherwise I'll always regret this moment in future if I didn't go."

"You can't be serious Kat, how can you even trust this guy in any case, he wasn't very forthcoming in the first place and besides are you just going to go along with any Tom, Dick or Harry that says they have info on your daughter?" She said as she looked me up and down then turned back to Katherine.

"You know that wouldn't stop me, besides I've been lucky so far." Katherine said, smiling back at her friend in defeat.

"Katherine, darling I'm afraid I have to insist we leave right now, I'm afraid where we need to be is bit time sensitive."

"Ok... Listen Cathy I'll see you later and tell you every single detail, okay?"

"Okay...' she said to Katherine and then turned to me, 'Listen here mister, if I don't hear from her by tomorrow then I'm coming after you, capiche!"

"Capiche, mademoiselle Cathleen." I smirked, then to add extra flare I bowed in her direction.

"Okay enough! Let's go."

"Follow me."

.............................................................

Yay that's another chapter done and dusted, I feel super proud of myself.

Does anyone else think Thane is a bit sketchy, also who do you think is the 'he' who sent him.

Also let me know what you think of the story so far I'd really appreciate it.
