This chapter was originally planned to be a bit much longer, but I decided to keep it short and nice.

Despite how weird it can sound, ships can get jealous from time to time, especially when they see the Commander with someone else.
This happens pretty often especially due to the fact of the tension that there is between some nations.
You can say it is like a competition between everyone to achieve the Commander's attention and love, even if he's not aware of it at all.

Today there's a big celebration in order to commemorate the anniversary of the union of Azur Lane, every ship of every nation was invited to be part of this event organized by the Royal Navy and the Iris Libre.
The Commander was obviously invited as well, and he needed to actually bring someone with him, like a dance partner since usually during this sort of celebration the main activities are either dancing, drinking, or just talking.

It took Y/N a few days to pick up someone who would accept being his partner during the party, he had a lot of different choices but ended up going with a particular ship from the Vichya Dominion, Jean Bart. The one that everyone was jealous of since she got the chance to be close to the Commander during the night of the event.
It wasn't that easy to make Jean accept to go with him, especially considering how distant the Vichya Dominion leader tends to be not only with other nations but also with her superior.
"You want me to go with you to that party? I'm not a fan of those places, but if you insist so much, guess I'll give it a try..." (Jean Bart)
"That's great, I'm really looking forward to it, Jean!" (Y/N)
"Just don't expect me to be like those Royal Navy ships that pretend to be fancy and refined" (Jean Bart)
"Haha... That's alright, it can always be a nice chance to socialize with other ships so-" (Y/N)
"Ha, not a chance, I'm better on my own" (Jean Bart)
As expected, the vichy ship is quite reserved with who she speaks and would prefer to keep a low profile as much as necessary.

History Fact.
In case you wonder why Jean Bart hates Massachusetts in the game, it's a little reference to the battle of "Casa Blanca" between both battleships during WW2 where the american battleship was able to knock out the only functional turret that Jean Bart had available.

The day of the party, Jean Bart was wearing a classic black dress with a few particular Vichya Dominion ornaments around it along with some high heels of the same color that had a combination of a gold tone as well.
Despite not being a fan of large social meetings, it seems she put quite a lot of effort into dressing herself for this occasion.
