July, 1, 2022- a cool summer day
Millie-23 Finn-23
After exiting off of his lingering flight he breathed in the fresh air of his hometown that he missed so much.
Shortly after Finn graduated from high school the first thing he did was marry his childhood sweetheart Millie.
He loved her dearly ever since they were young. And he made a promise to her that when they were old enough the first thing he would do was marry her.
And so he did, they got married two days after her eighteenth birthday. He was so happy and ready to spend the rest of his life with her.
They had so many plans. Finn had saved up lots of money during high school so as soon as they gradated and got married they could run away together.
But all of their plans and hopes came crumbling down once Finn's father decided to force Finn to join the army. They were both devastated to be torn apart from each other.
His father had also found out about Finn's savings and took it all.
So he was then stuck with no money and no way out, leaving him his only option witch was to join the army.
But even while Finn was gone away in the war he was still earning money and every chance he got he would send her every last dime of the money he earned so that Millie could run away, support herself, and wait for him.
They counted down the months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds until he could come back to her.
Then eventually after all the heart ache of missing each other the day came. It felt like it took century's but it came, it finally came.
He was coming home to her.
Millie stood in the middle of the airport shaking.
She couldn't tell if she was shaking from how happy yet nervous she was.
Or it might have been from the three cups of coffee she had that morning.
Her feet tapped on the ground anxiously as she looked around for her husband.
As her eyes scanned the airport once more she caught a glimpse of him. Her eyes became wide.
He soon locked eyes with her as well. With her heart pumping out of her chest Millie ran to Finn.
Tears streamed down her face as she held him for the first time in years.
He's home, he's finally home she thought.
She hiccuped hard sobs as she squeezed him tighter still trying to figure out if this was real or not.
Finn cried as well. He was finally able to hold the love of his life again.
He ran his fingers through her soft honey brown curls as he breathed in her intoxicating scent.
My love. He held her tighter rubbing soft circles on her back trying to calm her down.
Millie breathlessly came up from the crook of his neck for a long awaited kiss.
His lips were still just as soft as she remembered, they were still just as addicting and hard to pull away from.
He hadn't realized how much he missed her lips on his. The way she softly caressed the nap of his back as she showed him affection.
They held on to one another in the middle of the air port floor holding each other before they spoke.
"I missed you so much" Millie was the first to speak.
He pulled her into another kiss before he spoke as well. He rested his forehead on her's.
