"oh, baby!" harry's mom starts to tear up as he hugs her tightly. gem smiles at the scene before joining in the hug.

"i miss you guys so much. it's been way too long." harry cries out.

anne pulls back from the hug a little before kissing her son on the forehead.

"your glowing baby. look at you. look at that bump." anne places her hands on harry's small baby bump.

"i know. im so happy for you brother." gemma smiles.

he was glad she didn't say anything negative. maybe she's finally getting use to him being married to zayn.

harry smiles lovingly at his sister. "come on. everyone's in the house."

anne and gemma grab their bags as they follow harry into the huge house.

zayn was standing right by the door and grabs their bags.

"welcome. im glad that you're here. it's great having you." zayn states.

"thanks for having us." anne smiles hugely at her son in law.

"of course. you're harry's family which makes you mine." zayn states. "im gonna put your bags in your rooms."

as zayn heads upstairs ari makes herself known.

"anne! it's so good to see you." ariana hugs anne.

"it's good to see you as well ari. how's school?"

"it's great. im enjoying college more than i thought i would."

"how's your mom?"

"she's good. she'll be here tomorrow for thanksgiving dinner."

"that's fantastic. can't wait to see her again."

"she's excited to see you as well."

zayn's mother and father soon walk into view. jaunnie seemed genuinely happy to see everyone.

meanwhile zayn's mom didn't even try to fake a smile. she just stood by her husband silently.

"you must be anne. it's so great to have you in our home."

anne puts her hand out before jaunnie shakes his head and hugs her tightly.

"we're family. and i am a big hugger."

"since when?" dylan comes into view.

jaunnie gives him a look while dylan lifts his hands up in surrender.

"thank you for having me."

"you're family. you are welcome any time. why don't i introduce you to my kids."

jaunnie goes ahead and introduces everyone.

harry rubs his stomach. he loved seeing his mom so happy. it made his world light up.

zayn grabs harry's hand and kisses the back of it. "you good my love?"

harry hums happily. "it's so great to see her happy and healthy. i thought id never see that smile on her face ever again. i just can't believe it."

"believe it darling. you got your mom back."

harry sheds a little bit of a tear when he hears zayn state that.

a few hours goes by and harry was outside staring at the stars. he needed a bit of fresh air. he loved being surrounded by his family.

it's been a while since things were great with his mom and sister. he doesn't remember the last time they had such a good holiday.

everything was somewhat perfect. he knew eventually him and his sister were gonna talk about the elephant in the room.

harry knew how she felt about all this. she didn't approve and harry could tell. and he knows she has very good reasons too.

everyone would think the same thing. zayn was most likely waiting for him to be of age but that's not the case at all.

harry knew that and zayn did too. zayn was still hopelessly in love with nina. he never expected to move on from her.

he had hoped for the last few years they'd work shit out. harry was just ari's best friend. nothing more or less. but something sparked in him eventually.

and zayn and harry eventually fell in love. harry just hoped his sister would see how much zayn truly means to him and how much harry means to zayn.

"what are you doing out here love?" zayn whispers as he wraps his arms around harry's waist.

harry leans into zayn. "just happy. things seem to be going good right now."

"yeah. they're perfect." zayn rubs his hands up and down harry's belly bump.

"i can't wait until he's born."

"me too. he's gonna look so much like his beautiful mommy."

harry blushes. "i don't know. i think he'll look like his daddy. i hope he has your beautiful brown eyes."

zayn smiles. "i hope he has your cute nose." zayn states.

harry turns around. he wraps his arms around his husbands neck.

harry gently kisses him. "i love you so much."

"i love you too my darling. you mean so much to me. god, you're my everything. you, ari, and our baby."

harry smiles hugely. "maybe we should get some sleep. tomorrow's gonna be a pretty busy day."

zayn hums before grabbing his husbands hand as they walk back into the house before heading upstairs to zayn's old childhood bedroom.

"happy thanksgiving!" harry yawns out as he spots his mom and gemma.

gemma hugs her brother tightly. "happy thanksgiving baby brother. how are you feeling?"

"a bit bloated but other than that im good. how'd you sleep?"

"like i was floating on a cloud."

"really now?"

"mhm. i might still be skeptical of this relationship but they do have comfortable beds."

"we'll talk later. okay?" harry states.

gemma hums before sitting back down. a few hours go by before dinner was officially served as everyone gathered around the table.

everyone talks among themselves before zayn's dad made a quick toast about this being the most peaceful holiday they've had in a while.

zayn looks over at his mom and noticed she kept quiet all night. which was probably a good thing.

zayn knew she still wasn't very happy about harry. but he couldn't give three fucks.

everything seemed to be going good. maybe the holidays can be good for this big family after all. maybe.
