Bakugo
Knock-Knock-Knock
Fucking finally.
I opened the door to my room faster than I anticipated, I didn’t want to look too eager.
“Hey,” Ochako waved, holding a small, orange box in front of her. “Here’s your sweets, as promised.”
I took the box and started untying the red ribbon when I asked, “What took you so long?”
“Oh my god, I’m not a delivery service.” Her eyes drifted to the side, then locked on something inside my room. “Woah! Look at that mountain! Are all those from yesterday?”
Ah, she saw the freaking pile of Valentine Day shit on my desk. “There were more in my locker. I’m about to throw them shit away.”
“You didn’t even open them?” She said, “But they’re gifts!”
“They’re stupid.” I flipped open the treat box to see fresh strawberries lined in rows, drizzled with dark chocolate. There was even a little skewer on the side to eat them with. Huh, fancier than I thought.
“You should at least open them before deciding to throw them out!” She argued.
“If you want to throw them away for me, go for it.”
“Really?”
I shrugged, tossing a strawberry in my mouth.
What the-- the chocolate was spicy? I haven’t had spicy dark chocolate before. The combination with the strawberries was surprisingly nice. Like a sweet and spicy, dark summer night.
Nice.
“Yes!” She celebrated under her breath as she skipped in my room.
She is way too excided for this.
I closed the door and watched her scan my desk, trying to decide on what to open first. There were multiple tower stacks of boxes and cards and stupid plushies. I wanted them gone the moment I got them, but I’ve been so repulsed by them, I couldn’t stand getting close to the pile.
She opened a box and smiled, trying one of the chocolates inside. “Can I take this candy? It has caramel in it.”
“All fucking yours.”
She sat down in my desk chair and ate another while I walked over and leaned against my dresser. Her hand started rummaging through the cards, opening one at a time.
“Let’s see here,” She read the first one, “'Bakugo, I’m your biggest fan!' Nice and simple, they left you their number.”
I ate another strawberry, not caring about the cards.
“'You’re so powerful and awesome! Please date me!' With another number.” She kept opening more and more. “'Dear sports festival champion, I’ll be your champion!'” She wiggled her eyebrows at me. I chuckled as she kept reading more. “'I love drummers'… 'Marry me'… 'Our love will be explosive!' Ha! Nice pun.”
I rolled my eyes.
“What’s wrong? You want to be a famous hero but you don’t want to enjoy fan mail?” She asked.
“I don’t know any of these fucking people,” I said obviously.
“You could,” she laughed, “You got like 25 new numbers.”
