Laying on the beach a few feet from the tide in the pitch dark. That might seem rather scary to you, or maybe you don't see the beauty? The simplicity of it all makes it beautiful but the complexity makes it magical. Seeing the lights of the cars racing down the road diagonal across the lake from the vantage point. Seeing the reflection of the flashing green light house light in the water. Even the bright yellow of the McDonald's trade mark 'M' sign is angelic in the reflective blue.
The sound of the water hitting the shore a few feet away. The few late night seagulls squawking wouldn't seem like a pleasant sound would it? If you just listen it could be. Seagulls are the least pretty thing on the beach, right? No, seagulls are living things that do what they do because it's how they live. Are seagulls going to hate us because we don't scavenge for food?
The moon reflecting its crescent shape in the water. You lie there, taking it in. Using a stick to draw in the damp sand. The classic 'I was here' or maybe something a little more... You.
