Let's tell a story; something about a girl.
Let's start by describing the girl.
She wasn't pretty, nor was she talented. But, sure, was she special. Now what could possibly make her so special? Her mind. It was a place of twists and turns; a labyrinth of thought glued together with the sticky substance of reality into a constellation most beautiful. It was the prettiest of aligned planets; truly the most shimmering of lesser know constellations. But like such strings of stars it only came out at night. When she dreams, she dreams a novel, best selling. She dreams in the colours of the galaxy; all purples and pinks and dark blues with swirling golden star matter. She dreams in black and white but nothing is dull. She dreams in every colour of the spectrum, even ones never seen by the human eye. Thats why it's a dream. In dreams anything can happen; in hers everything happens. She dreams of the outlandish and the reality that is so feasible she wakes up in a daze forgetting that isn't her world and that shes only welcome at night. Now that you know the critical details about our main star lets get on with why I'm telling you of her in the first place:
One night, of course it was night, that's when all of her beauty forms seeing as outside of the night she's quite typical, unless you see her mind that is... One night she fell into a deep sleep, deeper than her usual sleep. Wait... Perhaps I should give our little beam a name. We'll call her... Dreamer. Ah, yes, now on with purpose- in her deep sleep Dreamer made up friends for herself because her real friends can't follow her into the labyrinth of her mind. She imagined a girl with bright purple hair, the colour of her favourite galaxy dream. The girl with purple hair she appropriately named Galactica. And while it may seem like a nerdy or strange name it fit perfectly. Galactica was Dreamer's first subject of interest, she had grey eyes that hold the world in their depth and her purple hair would never fade. Dreamer and Galactica spent a long time in this dream drawing out galaxies and looking at the ceiling of the dream world that held the most beautiful one of all. No one could replicate it, especially not the real world. But the dream doesnt end there. No, the dream seems to last forever as she gathered more friends like Galactica.
Next added to the pair of friends was Double. Double was made up of black and white but unlike her dreams was quite plain. What was interesting about him was that he was double, he was black or he was white, personality wise. He was either extremely nice and shy and made up of lighter shades of grey and white or he was brooding and quiet for the reason of unexplicable anger, made up of the darker blacks and greys. He and the pair of bright girls could always be found colouring Double's pale skin with bright crayons and when he was Dark Double they were gluing bright coloured paper to him while he sat and quietly explained his dislike of the sticky glue and rough sheets of paper that would line the structure of his sharp cheek bones and jaw. Nevertheless the three adored their time together.
The last friend she made up before figuring she had enough people to love was an ecstatic little creature called Ahni. Ahni was the subject of complete imagination. Ahni wasn't a human but rather a little bunny. And even though Ahni couldn't talk everyone knew what he was saying. Yes, Ahni is a boy but a very feminine one, he's a baby pink bunny that likes flowers and cute doll style skirts, not on him since he's a bunny but on others as a fashion choice, and he's the cutest critter Dreamer thinks she could come up with. With these additions the friends still coloured galaxies and Double but now they put Ahni into the mix, they sent Ahni out to get flowers for them to weave into flower crowns for the four of them and had him snuggle up with Double when he was having a Dark day to try and lighten his mood, whenever that happens Double always seems to turn into dark greys instead of blacks so maybe it works, although Double denies it everytime.
The friends adored each other and never wanted to leave the meadow they had been laying in since Galactica was imagined up. Dreamer hoped she would never wake up. These friends mean more to her than any other friend she could have in real life.
This dream seemed to be lasting a very long time and Dreamer was aware of that so she thought she should be waking up soon and dreaded the moment.
She spent the time painting colours around the world and weaving flowers. But soon she was blinking away from her world to an earthquake. Well, not quite. She was being shaken awake into reality for she had school today. Groaning, she made her way around morning tasks and half of her school day to lunch. During lunch her friends had been talking about how cool the galaxy looked in the movie in science, thinking of Galactica she smirked and turned to her right, only to find that Galactica can't come into this world.
Later that day after school, Dreamer drew a picture of a black and white boy, a pink bunny, and a purple haired girl all sitting in a meadow. She smiled and hoped to see them in her dreams tonight, they were great friends, though today she realised that she has good friends in real life too, they were just opposite of the norm and sometimes you need that, in the spontaneous, monotonous reality. As soon as she finished colouring the picture in she could have swore she saw Galactica wink and smile brighter than Dreamer had drawn her. Putting down the pencil she flopped onto bed. Falling asleep, a slightly lighter sleep, she found her self waking up in a meadow looking into the cute black eyes of Ahni. The friends were so glad to see each other that when Dreamer woke up she was disappointed. Dreamer arrived at school to find that three new students had been enrolled. As they walked into her class she saw a small, short boy with pink dyed hair wearing girls jeans, a baby pink sweatshirt, and baby blue converse, a girl with bright purple hair, pale skin, and jean shorts, and trailing behind was a very shy boy with paper white skin, black hair, and wearing a white hoodie, black jeans, and black and white converse. Dreamer nearly screamed. Were they really who she thought they were? "Class, these are some new students, this is Ahni, Gala, and Dec. Please treat them with the utmost respect." The teacher said looking around the class room. "Carsa, sit by them and give them tours, okay?" Of course Dreamer would do it. She nodded vigorously. The three friends at the front of the room smile brightly and Ahni winked at her.
Dreams can come true, but reality has to stay true for that to happen.
