"Well, it always gets worse before it gets better."

"Let's just get this over with," Strange grumbled.

Come see the doctor, 

gotta cure for your ailments, 

"Wait, wait. You were a doctor, right? So, like, you know how to fix things. Can I call you next time things go wrong? May doesn't know and Tony is already a helicopter parent minus the parent part."

Strange cringed but answered nonetheless, "Sure, kid."

He probably would have said no if it was anyone else, but kids are just hard to say no to. Of course, Tony's insulted, flabbergasted face followed by a possessive glare sure makes it easier. He might have even huffed. 

Bites to your throat, digging fingernail impalements, 

I am Doctor Stephen Strange, 

"Ahem, no."

I used to be clever, it's ironic I want brains! 

"I never got that about zombies. How can they know they want something or say anything if they are missing their brain? That is literally the organ that tells the body to move and speak. You can't have thoughts with no brain," Tony rants.

It might have been panic or just the reality of it setting in that he has started going through the logistics of it, but the zombie world inhabitants weren't all that impressed.

Happy answered his boss without his usual accompanying grimace over Bucky's unintentional injury. Somebody must have reset it. Strange had a pained look on his face over the risk of it. 

"Yeah, well. We don't quite care, unless you think up a solution or a means of mass genocide of eight million people then we don't want to hear it. We've already had that thought and it got us nowhere."

"Alrighty then. I guess I'll get right on it."

 Tony Stark, really left his mark, 

He took a chunk of tissue, and then everything went dark, 

"Well, that's at least somewhat relieving. At least it doesn't hurt and you're not really all that conscious. Small wins," Sharon points out still running that part about her through her head. 

I can't remember why but I used to be important, 

"Oh, yeah. It wasn't anything that big. Not like it was your one job to defend the freaking universe or anything!"

I dream of taking bites of Dormammu while he's dormant, 

 There's not many people left here to devour, 

"Oh, god. Don't remind me," Hope complained.

Bucky chuckled darkly in a way that put people on edge more than it relieved anything. He kept whatever it was to himself though. 

But here comes an old friend yum yum Bruce banner, 

Bruce raised a finger, "Hold up. Have I ever even met you?"

"No."

"Then a friend is pushing it Mr. tried-to-eat-me."

Strange's lip twitched slightly, "Thats Dr. tried-to-eat-me to you."

It worked though as people at least huffed at the absurdity of it all. 

My assistant took the elevator wrong now he's red speckles,
