Ms. Lin Ping’s efficiency was faster than Lin Yiyi had expected.
It has only been a day before someone contacted Lin Yiyi.
The woman’s name was Tao Jiahui. She was recruited by Ms. Lin Ping through a headhunter company. As a MBA graduate at Beijing University, she was elite managerial material for the country’s top 100 companies.
More importantly, she had previous experiences with film companies and had dabbled into film production in the past. She brought with her a wealth of knowledge.
“There are countless film companies domestically. Over 1,000 in the capital city alone. But most of them are operating in the reds and will eventually either go out of business or be acquired,” said Tao Jiahui. “Instead of jumping through hoops to start our own company and going through the hiring process, we are better off just acquiring a couple of these existing companies. We can then take a look at their personnel and keep the ones that are promising and let go of the rest. We would be able to save both time and effort and attain better results.”
What she said made a lot of sense and was very easy to understand. Lin Yiyi understood what she meant right away and decided to let her take the reins.
Lin Yiyi had spent quite a few days before finding a suitable location for the office and registering the company. In the end, it took Tao Jiahui just three days to acquire two mid-sized film companies as well as completing all associated paperwork.
Before the office was even finished remodeling, human resource, finance, business, strategy, production, and media departments were all ready to go. Tao Jiahui’s efficiency was impeccable.
Lin Yiyi was stunned all over again!
Truth be told, this was the very first time she was involved in running a company over the span of her two lives combined.
With her current ability, slowly figuring out everything that was needed to establish a company would have taken her forever and then some.
As far experiences went, Ms. Lin Ping was leaps and bounds ahead of her.
Even Tao Jiahui’s style was much fiercer than hers.
Once she had the general manager office set up, Lin Yiyi further divided up the responsibilities within the company and handed half of the managerial rights over to Tao Jiahui.
Then, she proceeded to discuss with Lu Xun regarding the matters of investing in the movie.
“Earth-shattering” was a crucial investment of Shengshi Entertainment for the second half of the year. Their emphasis on the movie could be seen from Director Lu Sen to the very influential male and female leads who would no doubt bring about impressive box office sales.
Amidst all those, Old Man Wang had also invested some in the movie owing to his relationship with Lu Xun. What was important wasn’t the capital from Old Man Wang, but the 59 theater chains that he owned throughout the cities.
When Lin Yiyi arrived, she was confident about her business proposition.
She had gone over the key points on this project with Tao Jiahui beforehand. Both Shengshi Entertainment and the Wang’s Corporation possessed their fair share of mass media. More importantly, Lu Sen and the few actors that had been finalized all had incredible draws as far as box office gross was concerned. One could say that this film was already successful before it was even aired on the big screen.
There was never a guarantee in investments, especially in the film industry. But even Tao Jiahui had a lot of confidence in this film.
Instead of all the other unknowns, this film possessed all the early factors required for its success.
As for Lin Yiyi, the only reason she wanted to invest in “Earth-shattering” was because of Director Lu Sen.
Lu Sen would be a guru in his field in the future. Countless people would want a hand in any of his movies; that ought to show that his odds of being successful were very high.
She must say, whilst Tao Jiahui based her analysis on profits, Lin Yiyi based hers on future prospects…
The two of them hit it off almost immediately.
