Before Lin Yiyi was able to resolve her daughter's "growing up" issue, another annoying incident took place.

Earlier in the morning, when the family of three were having breakfast, a visitor arrived at their place.

Housekeeper Zhang quickly went to answer the door. She returned looking solemn and announced that Mr. Meng was here.

Who else could it be but the film emperor with the last name Meng?

Lin Yiyi exchanged looks with her two children, and it was obvious that none of them were particularly excited about his visit.

Not even the two kids that he was related to by blood!

It had been a whole year since Meng Yan and the original owner were divorced, and with the exception of that last time when he had "tricked" the kids over to his place, when had he ever thought about the two of them?

Even that one time on Meng Shanshan' birthday, Lin Yiyi suspected that he only came over on a whim.

He didn't seem to particularly care about his children before the divorce either.

Now that their older child was already 13 years old and the younger one was 6, he had only seen them a handful of times. Even if they were close to each other before, it would have been worn off by now. Nevermind that they were never that close to begin with.

Even now, despite the lack of confusion or uncertainties about the future, Meng Yuran, who was an awkward adolescent youth, wanted to retaliate against his own father. That was, doubtless, a living testimony of how much of a failure the film emperor was as a father.

Lin Yiyi wiped her mouth with a napkin and comforted her two children who had stopped eating. "You two keep working on your breakfast. I'll go find out why he is here."

Watching her get up and walk down the stairs toward the living room, Meng Yuran pursed his lips. When he turned back around and saw that his little sister was also looking in the same direction, he harrumphed lightly and got her attention. "Keep eating."

His voice was already several degrees colder.

On the other end, Meng Yan, who had already been sitting there for a few minutes, looked up and was casually looking around.

The Lin's bought this mansion when Meng Yuran was still young.

The décor now was no longer the same as it was before. Apparently they had remodeled the place within the last couple of years.

He hadn't paid a lot of attention the last time he was here. Now that he was paying it more attention, he noticed that this place no longer looked familiar to him.

City Nan was, after all, a tier-1 city and this mansion was located right smack in the prime area of the city center. Even though the total area between the front and back garden and the garage was about the same size as his mansion by the sea, this place cost at least five times more.

As much as people might brag about the better environment in the suburb or that a place next to the water had better views and air quality, money was real.

Ms. Lin Ping was never a frugal one when it came to spending money. She was generous when it came to herself and even more so when it came to Yiyi.

He noticed the person coming down the stairs.

Early fall in City Nan still wasn't chilly, not to mention they were indoor right now with no breeze. Lin Yiyi had on a summer embroidered tee-shirt and a skirt. The only thing that didn't go along with her outfit was the pink slippers that she also had on.

When he saw her, Meng Yan stood up from the couch and greeted her. "Yiyi."

Lin Yiyi cocked her head and was stunned for a second. Then she busted out laughing. "Mr. Meng."

Why was he referring to her as Yiyi so affectionately? The two of them weren't that close.

Lin Yiyi's "Mr. Meng" instantly put a distance between the two of them.

Meng Yan frowned slightly. He was perplexed by the way she addressed him and her attitude towards him.

Lin Yiyi didn't care what he thought. She sat down on the single-seater couch that was furthest from him and asked, point blank, "What do you want?"

He wouldn't have come if he didn't have something on his mind. She doubted that he wanted to "experience" the affection from his family all over again!
