"Hey!"
I'm jerked out of my daydream, blushing scarlet as I realise the object of my distraction is staring right at me. And she doesn't look happy.
"Didn't anyone tell you it was rude to stare at people?" Ena hisses, turning back to her work with a huff.
"Sorry, I just zoned out. I didn't mean to stare at you." I add quickly, but Ena just rolls her eyes.
I turn back to my work, a blush seeping into my cheeks. Ena must really hate me... I guess I just annoy her...
Eventually, the lesson draws to a close. I glance at Ena as she hurries out of the classroom, checking her phone- and her face plummets, tears forming in her glossy brown eyes. In an instant, she's disappeared- out of the classroom, down the hall, just gone.
Biting back my nerves, I go to find her, hoping I can help her for once. I weave through waves  of people leaving their classrooms, through to the stairway leading to the roof. Swallowing any doubts, I brush past the NO ENTRY sign and step onto the roof.
"What are you doing up here?"
Ena stands centimetres away from my face, her face bright-red and glossy with tears. I stammer for a second, unsure what to say- but instead of words, I just step forwards and hug her.
She stiffens, then relaxes, sobbing softly into my shoulder. We stand like this for a few seconds, until Ena finally raises her head, looking directly at me, tears streaming down her face, and whimpers a few words.
"Do you think I'm a good artist?"
I pause for a second.
"No, of course you're not! I've seen you draw a lot, and all of it... it's so unique, it's-" Realisation smacks me in the face and takes away my breath. "Wait... are you Nightcord25's artist? The one who's... that's getting..."
Ena's face crumples into a sob.
"It's all... everyone hates me..."
She shoves the phone in my hand, and I click on N25's newest music video, scanning the comments.

WTF is that proportion

I didn't think it was going to be that bad...

Good song but shame about the terrible art, not even the god tier animation could save that

Nobody: nobody can make a pv worse than ____, can they?
N25: hold my emo juice

The art wasn't even that bad. It looked a bit rushed, but that's just because Ena's started going to classes again!
"Ena, you can't possibly listen to these people. The art is amazing!" I reassure her, grabbing her hands in mine.
"I've tried to get Kanade to take it down... but she won't, because Mafuyu said she liked it." Ena scrubs fervently at her face with one sleeve. "Why can't I do anything right?" She sobs, leaning into my chest.
"Ena... just because ONE piece of art wasn't your usual standard, doesn't mean everything else is terrible. You're so, so hardworking, at everything you do, and all artists make things they hate." I whisper into her ear, and I hear her sobs quieten.
"Thank you, y/n." She smiles weakly, stepping away.
"Hey- do you want to eat lunch with me?" I ask quickly, before my confidence dissipates.
"That... that would be great, actually." Ena smiles, and we step back down the staircase, into reality.
