Blakely woke up and looked over at her clock, 4:00 am. She groaned and got up. She always woke up really early so she could go on a jog with her roommate Raine, Rapunzel's daughter. She never really slept much and luckily neither did Blakely.
She grabs a pair of sweats and a loose take top; Ranie was already up lacing up her sneakers. They go about their morning jog. "You know if we get back by, at most 6, I can still do your make-up," Raine tells her. They jogged for about an hour and got back at 5:30. Raine did some light natural make-up on Blakely and helped her straightened her hair before class. They both got dressed, Raine in a purple tank top and blue jeans, Blakely in a pair of navy-blue leather pants and a white button up with the sleeves rolled up.
Blakely headed to the hall where she normally did some reading before class. But when she got there, she saw Fairy godmother and the VK's. "Oh, Blakely what are you doing here?" all the Vk's look at her and again her eyes lock on to Evie's.
"I usually read here before class. My first period is free today," she said tearing her eyes away from Evie. "I can go somewhere else."
"I'm sorry dear one you're more than welcome and read while the others work as long as the talking doesn't bother you."
"Thank you miss," She sat in the back, she put her headphones on and read the fourth Percy Jackson book, 'The Battle of the Labyrinth.' The VK's were less focused on their work and more so on the girl in the back. She wasn't a typical princess and that confused them. Evie on the other hand was staring at her dreamily. Evie loved love in all forms and all she was ever told was to get someone royal and a mother-in-law wing. her mother didn't care as long as there was money and Evie didn't care as long as they admired her.
Jane ran in a moment later, "hello dear one."
"Hi," she whispered. Blakely loved Jane but she can be very skittish, and it was clear she was terrified of the villain kids. "I need you to sign off on early dismissal for the coronation."
"Everyone remembers my daughter Jane."
"Mom!"
"Jane this is everyone."
"Don't mind me as you were."
Blakelyn saw her run the wrong way. "Jane, you have entry to magic history next period," she ran past the door the other way. "Don't mind Jane, she can be a little skittish. She's great though. Gotta love her." Fairy godmother smiled back at the princess. Jane didn't have many friends, but Blakely was someone that she always talked about.
She finished her book and started putting her stuff in her bag. When she looked up Jay had Carlos in a headlock on the table. "Boys I'm going to encourage this energy on the Tourney field."
"No thanks we'll pass whatever that is," Carlos said for both of them.
Blakely stood up and said, "You're not getting out of it." She sighed and made a face of annoyance, "And I'm not getting out of cheer practice."
~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~
The princess was on the cheer squad because Audrey didn't want to do it alone. She loved her best friends, but she had to admit the short skirt and pompoms bothered her. She watched Jay dominate the field and poor Carlos get pummeled. She saw Audrey getting angrier and angrier by the second, "Audrey? Why are you upset?"
"He flipped Ben!"
"Tourney is a tough game, Ben knows that. I'm also sure that's how villains teach their kids." She fumed but nodded she was trying to be better because it was clear to her that the princess liked the VK's and she didn't want to disappoint her.
"Ever thought about the band," she walked up next to her brother, Jay, and Carlos. Jay didn't even try to contain his laughter.
"I'll work with him, coach," Ben said.
She threw her arm around the pummeled Carlos. The boy jumped and looked at her. "You had a hard practice so I'm gonna take you shopping, It's a cool down time around here, you have no choice, I'll stop by your dorm later."
Chad gave her a look as she passed, "honestly she looks like a guy in a skirt." She flinched, "Blakely is too much of a tomboy really. No guy is going to look twice at her as long as she keeps looking like one of them," he told his friend. She was really self-conscious about how she looked. She knew she was more of a tomboy and didn't like being all dressed up. She was usually confident in herself but there was always that little voice in the back of her head, and weirdly enough it always sounded like Chad. She didn't like boys she didn't want to be with a guy, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt not to mention all the older royals expected her to marry and have an heir one day. It was so suffocating to be a disappointment for something she couldn't change.
"Leave her alone man," she turned and saw Jay looking at Chad like he was about to kill him. "It's clear that you're bothering her," since the coach was still on the field, and he didn't want to get cut from the team he glared at Jay and left.
"Thanks for that," She smiled exhaustedly. "Why did you do that?"
He laughed, "he was clearly bothering you. I have two girl best friends I can tell when someone's uncomfortable." Jay was nicer than he seemed, and he didn't even realize it. Maybe this would be easier than they all expected.
"Chivalry class does nothing for that boy," she commented.
"Wait, that's a class?" he asked.
"Yea," he groans, making her laugh. "So, you made the team?" he nodded. "You know you're gonna have to work with others right."
"Yea I don't know how that's gonna go," he admitted scratching his neck.
"You just have to listen and add to the team. Trust me it's not as bad as it might seem. Me and Ben have been a team since he was born, and we make it work. You just gotta stick together and work together. That's how it works," Jay smiled at her. She smiled at him, "Thank again for getting him off my back now I'm gonna get out of this skirt before I get any more uncomfortable."
Jay nodded at her, "yeah you really don't look like you're comfortable in that." She let a sheepish smile grace her features and nodded taking off in the direction of her dorm.
And another chapter, the next will Be Carlos and Blakely's shopping trip.
