Narrator POV:
Aether and Xiao had been dating for a while. Soon becoming like a married couple. (hint hint) They would sleep together at night in Aethers teapot and snuggle almost every night.
Xiao was more himself around the blond and could express himself without feeling judged.
They both had a partial routine they had in their life. A routine yet still randomness every now and then.
Waking up together eating breakfast they both go off to do work then at night once Xiao arrives home after Aether does they eat dinner together and fall asleep snuggling in each other's embrace.
Today was a special day. Their 4th anniversary since their relationship started. Aether had woken up earlier on purpose and once freeing himself from xiaos arms he wrote a note saying "meet me at the mountain by stone gate around 18:00 (6pm) I have a surprise" with a heart drawn near it and at the bottom having his name written 'Aether' along side it was an outfit he was told to wear in a little "PS: wear this!!"After writing a note to tell Xiao where to meet him.
He immediately teleported to stone gate and started to climb a bit happier then normal. Paimon wasn't with him so he also has that but also the surprise he was planning.

He arrived at a small pond and quickly cleared and hilichurls within a 15 meter radius (49 feet almost 50) so nothing could disrupt their night. He soon grabbed a cotton cloth he had and lay it in the ground and set up a tiny picnic without the food though. He waited to make it but first he needed to put on a kimono he has. He was given his by ningguang and they were made from the finest silk in liyue. He had one for his lover that he bought himself. He couldn't deny it cost a lot but anything was worth it for his love.
Once he was wearing his he quickly set out his portable stove (device from liyue reputation.) Once he had finished cooking and setting up the cute picnic the sun was starting to set and now he awaited his lovers arrival.
"Aether?"
The blond immediately recognized his lovers voice and responded quickly.
"Over here!"
Aether stated as he waved his hand from where he was sitting.
"A picnic?"
"Happy anniversary love"
The blonds smile seemed to light up the area around them although it was only fireflies.
"Happy anniversary.."
Xiao said timidly he was confused on how this was way more extravagant then their usual celebrations. Normally they'd just stargaze somewhere special nothing more.How will tonight be different?
The yaksha sat down by the other and rested his head on his loves shoulder and his hand sat on top of the others.
"There's almond tofu if your hungry or you can just enjoy the sunset."
Aether calmly spoke as he intertwined their fingers and put his own head on top of xiaos. They were facing where dawn winery was watching the sky fade into warm colors and then cool tones.

The raven haired male grabbed some with his free hand and rested the plate on his lap as he ate continuing to watch the night sky.
The two sat in a loving silence watching the stars peak out as nights blanket covered the earth.Aether the broke the silence after kissing the other males head.
"There's one last surprise. Follow me."
He then lifted the shorter up and they began to walk hand in hand closer to the peak.
"It's quite pretty here.."
The one clueless of what was about to happen stated once they could feel the wind from Mondstadt be brought directly to his face. Although out of liyue since it's not far no one could get mad at him.

"Indeed it is..."
The blond let go of the others hand leaving Xiao confused then Aether knelt down on one knee before speaking...
" Xiao we've been dating for 4 years and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I wish to feel secure that us waking up together would never stop and forever be with you..."
He grabbed a ring he had hidden in a secret pocket near his chest in his kimono he had made. He opened the case to reveal a pretty piece of cor lapis cut into a diamond shape with a blacker metal band slightly thicker giving it more masculine energy.
"So what I'm trying to say is will you marry me Xiao?"
Xiao was left speechless he had figured out what marriage was a while back when he asked Verr goldet what's a husband. His heart fluttered from Aethers words as his stomach swarmed with butterflies like the first time he realized he was in love with the other. He found it hard to speak but the one word he did managed to strengthen their bond.
"Y-YES!"
With that Aether got up and hugged his now fiancé before kissing him on the lips and putting the ring on his left hands ring finger. Meaning 'marriage' (in western culture atleast)
With that the two love birds were left standing near the peak hugging with the occasional kiss ♥️
