Velvet was busy trying to lock up the heavy gate when it blew up. She was to the side, but the explosion made her fall back and disorientated most the people, and the first few seconds of time that gave the scavengers allowed them to surge in. Sasha and Valentino quickly killed most the first wave, with their flames and minigun. Scarlett sent out her Shadows and shuddered as spikes burst from her hand and arm, killing any enemies that got past the two u front. When Velvet got up again, she quickly blew up a group of scavengers with her blast-wrist, killing a few and pushing the rest back. White Shirt quickly racked the slide back on his pistol and shot enemies straight in the head, hitting every shot. After a few minutes of constant fighting and Beta squad sustaining wounds, the fighting was almost done. While the scavs were retreating, Sasha ran up, shot one in the leg, and stomped their head into the snow before slitting his throat, causing most the snow to go red before pulling them up and showing their friend to the retreating scavs, which made them run slightly faster. Everyone sat there, panting and highly alert, before [Commander] comes onto their AG3NTs, "Oh my god are- are you guys okay? I have no idea how they got past the turrets and sensors, they must've known somehow, fuck! Good thing my request for supplies was approved, they'll be there shortly, just make sure no more get past! But, how'd they get the explosives to get through the gate.. never mind, keep guard, I'm starting repair and restart protocols on the turrets and sensors, fuck, we won't be able to replace the gate easily though."  Velvet chuckled and practically collapsed onto a bench inside the fort. She got stabbed through the EOD armor, below her ribs. She was bleeding cyan colored blood, giving Valentino a thumbs up when he walked over with a worried look. She took off her armor, showing that she only wears a tank top and cargo pants under the armor, and she also pulls up her tank top to use an Advanced IFAK, cleaning the wound and bandaging it. She showed off the couple of scars around her abdomen while healing herself up, blushing a bit while doing this and quickly getting her armor back on after that, wincing but stretching and standing up anyways, starting to speak, "Yeah I- fuck, ow. Okay, it's just a stab! I'm able to ru-" A quiet alarm interrupts her, the alarm meant to signal a storm. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Everyone get in the bunker, storm incoming! Scarlett, stay up here, lets just keep to the back of the room." Everyone filed into the bunker with worried muttering. Scarlett scoffed and pulled out a knife, cutting her hand and using the blood to summon a new demon. Velvet's breaths were a little shaky as she got a desert eagle and, after checking it was loaded and calmly walking over, she stood near the entrance to the bunker, beginning to talk, "Alright, we got this. I don't think they're gonna try again, after Sasha's little.. display. Well, at least not tonight. But.. hey, you guys hear something?" She stopped, before hearing a familiar loud and long wailing, and screams. "Well, they definitely won't be trying to get in now, they sound like they'll be occupied all night. Still, I'll help keep guard." And they waited. Minutes turned into the tens of digits, into hours. The storm wasn't passing. Velvet tried to strike a conversation with Scarlett but the latter just shoved former, pointing towards the broken open door with snow all around it, and Velvet took it as her signal to keep guarding. After another hour, the door to the bunker opened and Valentino came out next to Velvet, looking worried and speaking to Velvet, "Hey, you should get inside and, oh wow, the storm isn't over  yet? It.. doesn't usually last this long.. well, anyways, get inside, I'll take over guarding for you. Just relax and wait for that wound to heal."  Velvet just nodded and walked into the bunker, Valentino patting her on the back and taking her place outside the door. Inside was pleasantly warm. Sasha was sitting on a folding chair, looking nervous as Velvet stood next to her, trying to strike up a conversation, "Hey, you doin alright Sasha? First you flip out, now you look unsettled and stuff." Velvet started taking off her armor and wincing occasionally when dealing with her torso armoring when Sasha responded, "Yeah, yeah, fine! Just, we can't access Commander because of that oddly long storm, the Laz is dead, you're hurt, and the fort is breached." Velvet nodded, only wearing her tank top and cargo pants now as she sat down next to Sasha, the former speaking,  "You know, one of those crashed ships has got to have a long range radio that isn't mostly broken. We could fix it up, connect it to the fort terminal, and contact Commander. I'm pretty sure White Shirt over there has the brains to repair it, and connecting it is something even I could do. But to get it.. that's the issue. Our respirators might not last, and only a few of us are gonna be strong enough to carry something like a heavy duty radio system here." White Shirt drank from a water bottle, sighing and carefully putting it down near the crate he sat on, still silent. Velvet moved and opened up a crate of respirator filters, knowing that she was one of the two people strong enough to carry something that heavy, hoping that her wound heals by the time she leaves the fort.
