Celestia Merryweather stood in front of her new house in awe. The house was built in 1850, and had been taken care of very well by it's past owners. It had a fresh coat of rosy pink paint on the exterior, and newly planted flowers all around the sides of the house and yard. Celestia was happy about that, she already missed her garden in Lavenderville.
She had moved to be able to go to her dream school, she's going to be going to Aphrodite academy of ballet! It's famous for it's rococo architecture and the surplus of primas that come out of that school. Celestia had sent her application over the summer, and had eagerly been waiting for a reply. She was ecstatic that she had gotten in! But, she couldn't help but mourn all that she would be leaving behind.
Her best friend, Crystal, being top of the class at her old ballet studio, even just thinking about not being able to go to her favorite bakery every morning made her a bit sad.
But now wasn't the time to be sad, she reminded herself. It was time for a fresh start at Aphrodite Academy. She hoped more people would like her here. She wasn't very liked by her classmates at her old studio, they would always call her nasty names and become very jealous with her when she got the lead roles.
The girl hummed her favorite song to herself as she glided up the steps and opened the front door, twisting herself awkwardly to fit her bloated duffle bag through the frame. She gasped happily, the movers had already put the furniture in! All the Merryweather family had to do were unbox the decorations, one of Celestia's favorite things to do. Her family always gives her the duty of decorating every holiday.
She fluttered up the hardwood staircase that greeted her, her pink flats lightly kissing each step. At the end of the hall, as if beckoning her, stood a door painted light pink. A ballerina Christmas ornament hung on the doorknob, just as it did at her old home. Celestia lowered herself down and stood on her toes, she dance walked over to the blushing door. Even before she started dancing lessons, she had always walked around the house on her toes. Even though she could fly, she loved the feeling of dancing around the house. Her wings certainly didn't mind the break.
The room was a hexagon shape, almost every wall had a window. "The natural light would be beautiful for costume pictures...", she thought. The walls had an elegant rose wallpaper. She noticed that the roses had a golden outline. She wondered if it was hand painted.
Her frilly pink canopied bed sat with its head against the furthest wall, the windows looming over it. It looked cold and bare without her stuffed animals, though. Boxes were neatly stacked against the wall, each of them labeled. "Recital costumes, clothes, stuffed animals, ect"
Celestia ripped open the stuffed animals box and smiled that all of her little friends had a safe trip. She dug out her two favorite stuffed animals, a pink fox named Macaroon and a bunny in a tutu named Sugarplum. The fairy hugged them happily and threw herself onto her bed, putting her two stuffed friends beside her head.
"I can't wait..." She mumbled to herself as she opened her phone, Aphrodite academy's website displayed on the screen. Ever since she was accepted, she was constantly scrolling through photos of the school. She was so excited to see it in person! Every wall had beautiful carvings, and flowers hung from the ceiling. It looked like heaven.
Yet again, she found herself on the "stars" page. She looked at the four girls on the screen, Lucinda Nightshade, Emma Electra, Blair Bramble, and Ossana Najimi. All beautiful, smiling girls. It made Celestia jealous to look at them. She knew she was pretty, she knew she had talent, but it certainly didn't feel like it a lot. Especially while looking at people better than her.
It's not like she just sat around moping about it, she actively diets and exercises, along with lots of practice. Sure, she gets dizzy sometimes, but that's normal, right? She didn't need to eat a lot anyway. It wasn't good for her figure. She has been told numerus times she didn't have the body for ballet, so she tries her hardest not to eat a lot. It made sense to her. All the other ballerinas were skinny and delicate looking, while Celestia thought of herself as chubby and clumsy.
She was determined to work as hard as she could to become the star of the sophomore class, though. No matter how many hours she had to practice. No matter how much she would have to restrict.
She rolled her eyes and closed out of the tab, instead looking at all the classes Aphrodite Academy offered. She had signed up for all of her favorite subjects, like gardening, costume design, and creature culture, but there were so many other classes! She wondered what she will be put in.
She scrolled through her phone, bursting with happiness about her new school. Soon, her eyelids started to grow heavy, so she pulled her pink Lilac flower print comforter put of a box and drifted off to sleep, her dreams full of exciting school days and new friends.
