Celestia flew to school the next morning, excited for what the day will bring. Her first day at Aphrodite Academy was so fun! She couldn't wait to dance, and go to the greenhouse! She wanted to ask Miss.Fleur for a cutting of the pothos in the greenhouse.
After changing in the locker room, she flew to her first dance class of the day. She had two dance classes on her schedule, first period and fifth period. Her other classes were potions second period, gardening third period, creature culture fourth period, culinary sixth period, and costume design seventh period.
Walking into the room, she was happy to see Lucinda already there, sitting in the corner drawing something. Celestia gripped her bag strap a bit tighter as she walked over.
"Hi, Lucinda!"
Lucinda gave a lazy wave. "Hey, Celeste" Celestia smiled at the nickname. She sat down next to the vampire and looked at the sketchbook in her lap. "What are you drawing?" She asked.
"Oh, just designing a poster for Friday's concert" Lucinda yawned.
"Concert? Aphrodite Academy has a band?"
"Yes, but this isn't for a school band. It's for my punk band, Nocturnal Knights. We play every Friday at the abandoned hospital on Daffodil street"
"What? That's so cool!" Celestia excitedly said. She always liked the aesthetic of those types of bands, and the community seemed really cool to her. She's always wanted to play an instrument, too! Maybe the violin, or the flute! She's always loved the sound of them.
"Yeah, I guess it is kind of cool." Lucinda responded, beginning to color red blood splatters onto the page. Celestia watched. The drawing read "NOCTURNAL KNIGHTS" in a sharp scribble, with the date, time, and location underneath.
Celestia thought about going. She's never been to that type of event before, it could be fun. And she wanted to know more about Lucinda, maybe this would have her see another side of the girl.
"So, what are the concerts like?" She asked.
"Loud, chaotic, and fun. Nobody cares what you do there, you know? Some people dance, some people scream, some people just stand and listen on the sidelines. It's fun either way."
"Sounds cool! Mind if I come along on Friday?" Celestia asked
"Of course, dude! I'll make sure nobody messes with you. They shouldn't, though. Everyone's really nice. You get one asshole from time to time, but if we call them out and embarrass them, they leave pretty quick. They don't belong in the scene if they're gonna be dicks." Lucinda shook her head, remembering the few people she's had to kick out for groping people, harassing people, or just being a nuisance.
Celestia smiled. Nothing like this ever went on in Lavenderville! It was a small, uneventful town. No concerts, no parties, no festivals. The highlight of the year was the spring sale at the flea market, which, admittedly, was pretty fun, but nothing amazing.
She couldn't wait for Friday.
