Ivy's house, outside in the same place as Scene 1, except this time there is a blanket and boxes of food set out. Hailey, David, Luke, Sylvie, and Olivia are already sitting down.
Enter Ivy and August.
Ivy: Come, on, just this once. I promise you'll see something!
August: I'm only doing this because I hate being cooped up in my room. You understand this loud and clear, right?
Ivy: Uh huh.
A silence falls over the group. The only thing heard are munches as they eat.
Luke: (through food) Look! I found the Big Dipper! Or what's left of it.
Hailey: I don't believe it. It's actually gone.
Ivy: I knew it! See, I'm not crazy!
August: Wait, wait, wait, look at the star at the far end! It's - it's fading!
The group gasps and talks all at once, excited. After they've calmed down, Ivy stands up.
Ivy: (to the sky) Take that, Mr. Fitzpatrick!
August: Fitzpatrick?
Olivia: Yup. He's the best science teacher ever.
David, Hailey, and Luke nod.
August: As in Leonard B. Fitzpatrick?
Olivia: That would be the one.
Sylvie: And the only! He never lets anyone forget.
August: (standing up) If we're thinking of the same Leonard B. Fitzpatrick, he's much more than a seventh grade science teacher. Follow me.
Exit all.
End scene.
