ミ★ ( obsidian, act one ) ★彡In the weeks that followed, Amias became used to Bella's scent. He did whatever he could to become accustomed to it because a sense of protectiveness overcame him more than his desire to hurt her for her blood. A security guard down in Mason County had been mauled in an 'animal attack'. At least, that's what the reports were saying—the Cullens knew it was nomad vampires who were behind it. They had been tracking their activity for weeks and they were heading south, but they were still too close for comfort, hence why Amias wanted to be there in case they came for Bella. Her scent was too desirable and he didn't want to risk anyone else thinking the same thing—especially someone with less control than him.
It had started off as a normal day in Forks, the Cullens attending school as normal and going to their classes with Amias looking forward to being present in his Biology class with the Swan girl and detesting all of his other classes because of Lauren and Jessica.
The ride to school was quiet with both Alice and Jasper having a moment to themselves in the car, with Alice being clearly upset about something but Jasper not wanting to press—he knew that she would tell him when she was ready.
Emmett and Rosalie were having a moment of their own; gazing into each other's eyes with wonder. Edward was quite disgusted with the scene so he chose to drive his own car away from his coupled up family and Amias was happy to join him. Everyone was aware how desperately in love they were and Edward felt a little bitter that he was the only one that was alone until Amias came along... at least until Amias grew an interest in Bella Swan.
It obvious how interested in her he was from how the second he stepped onto school grounds, his golden eyes scanned for her. He was a little embarrassed with how obsessed he was over her and never voiced it out loud, so Edward never pressed; only listening every now and again to his worried thoughts on where she was and what she was doing.
He almost perked up when he heard the thunderous sound that was her truck pulling into the school's parking lot, and he decided to lean against Edward's car to seem relaxed and cool despite his inner thoughts being the opposite.
The girl slowly drove into view and he could see her eyes were intent on the road and her hands were gripping the steering wheel. She seemed anxious which made Amias anxious; until he realised she was probably just nervous about driving on the ice covered road and she was trying to drive more carefully to avoid harm.
She parked not too far away from Edward's car and she got out of the car carefully, making sure she tested her feet on the ground so she didn't slip when she would put her full weight on her feet. She didn't look up and Amias turned away so he didn't look as if he had been staring in her direction for the last five minutes, at that point he had noticed that the Cullens had gone inside to their classes.
