Somewhere better...with the loss of will.

It was a usual way to start on a Monday. For me at least.

As I opened my eyes, I could just barely see the sunrise in the only window to the outside as well as one of the muddy-green walls, The air reeked of addictive cleaning chemicals that the cleaning kids left, and I could hear FLAM Ellie BERGE and FRAN Molly ISCA arguing about who got the better toothpaste first and who would sneak downstairs to the kitchen to steal some of the leftover brownies from the meeting with the adults.

Despite how bad it sounds, everything had a weird comfort to me. The sun rising, the pleasant smell and the sounds of the two people I love were always welcoming no matter how corrupt on the inside they were. It felt like I could stay in bed and sleep for a few more hours, staying in what seemed like one of the best dreams I'd had.

But unfortunately, whoever lives high up in the clouds hasn't pardoned me yet and made it Monday today. I'll kill whoever designed the calendar for this month later, but for now, I'll just get up and start my day as usual.

I slowly woke up as the girls were starting to trash-talk each other into trying to get the other sister to do what they want. I didn't pay attention to the verbal fight and just went out of the room through our faded-white door. I sauntered through the hallway and turned at the stairs going to the first floor. I carefully went down the steps and turned to the right of the kitchen, where (thankfully) no one was there to see me or stop me.

I started to make myself something that'll wake me up for sure; coffee. I'm not that ashamed to call myself an addict over it. Hey, it's quick, it's easy, and it wakes me up faster than any cold water or screaming will ever do. I ran the coffee machine with the ground coffee I randomly picked out and filled the water tank with enough water to make a cup.

While the machine was running, I looked inside the fridge to find anything to go along with what I'm making, or just something to eat at all, until I glanced at the brownies that Molly and Ellie were arguing about. I should take them. They're sweet and it'll stop Molly and Ellie from waking up the whole damn orphanage while I get ready. The machine stopped a bit after I grabbed the plate out of the fridge, so I grabbed the cup by its handle and walked faster up the stairs and to our room, where I saw Ellie trying to push Molly out of the room.

With a disappointed look on my face, I gave Molly the plate of brownies as I passed by her and Ellie I went to get my bag settled before I prepared to use the bathroom.

"I don't mind you girls arguing, but try to keep it down at least. And get ready too. I'm having us wake up early for a reason. It'll get more hectic with everyone up in 30 minutes." I advised the two girls.

"I know ZAN Jasmine PAR, but Molls and I already got ready and everything!" Ellie explained.

"Yeah, Jasmine. You slept an extra 20 minutes than your scheduled time for us."

I blushed slightly, embarrassed that I overslept that much. I shook it off though.

"Well, in any case, be quiet," I ordered.

Molly and Ellie nodded and munched on the brownies I brought while I got dressed and brushed my teeth. It didn't take much time until the rest of the kids started to wake up and do their own thing. It also wasn't that much time until we had to leave for school as well. As the three of us went down the stairs to the first floor to get out of the house, one of our guardians was screaming at the kids about who took "MY GODDAMN BROWNIES". As hysterical as it was, it was a sign that we couldn't stay there for long. We had to leave, so I pushed Molly and Ellie out to the porch to get away from the crazy man.
