Cate led you to one of the cabins. It had a lovely view over the sea. She said she would be right back and excused herself. You stared out of the spotless window. There was no one else in sight. It took about 10 minutes before you realized the ship had started moving. .

You loved the quietness. All that you could hear were the waves hitting the hard surface of the ship and the whispers of the wind. You didn't get to listen to the quietness for too long, since you could hear cate's footsteps getting closer by the second. She was wearing a loose linen shirt and matching pants. She looked very good (as always) you thought. You noticed the bottle in her hand and two glasses in the other. She smiled at you and reached for you with the glass. You took it and thanked. She opened the bottle filled with amber colored liquid and poured you a glass. You sat on the huge, white leather sofa and she sat next to you still facing you.

"So. How have you been.", her sudden question caught you off guard. "I've been alright, thank you", you tried to response as firmly and confidently as possible. She nodded. "What about you?"

You tried to keep the conversation going. "Well, you know. I've been quite stressed with work lately. I've been working on a new role I got. It's rather a challenging one to be honest. Andrew has been so supportive and understanding but I know that it bothers him when I work late." She paused. "Oh." You said, not expecting that answer. You placed your now empty glass on the counter next to you. "For the record you are one of the most talented actresses I know. I'm sure you'll do well with the role. Even though I'm not the expert in these thing at all, I can assure you that." you stated smiling. She shifted her gaze to you and smiled. It was the most heartwarming smile you had ever seen. Your stomach did a flip. Wow. Andrew was a lucky guy. the conversation con tinted for about 30 minutes before she said: "Thank you" she put her glass on the counter next to yours and pulled you closer to her, and wrapped her arms around you to a warm embrace. You hugged her back without hesitation. The way she held you ever so tightly gave you the message that she really needed this.

The hug lasted for about 15 seconds before cate pulled away and looked you deeply in the eyes. It was intense. You didn't dare to look away. The both of you held eye contact . Her eyes were so capturing. There was something in them that you had never seen in one's eyes before. It was like an ocean, the arctic and the night sky all mixed together. you glanced at her lips. Oh shit. She saw it. She smirked and put her hand on your cheek. Her palm was warm against the cool skin of yours. She stroked it gently, never breaking eye contact, not even for a moment. You wanted to kiss her so bad.

You noted that she was observing every last inch of your face, while still stroking your cheek. You never wanted this to end. You had never felt so calm in your life. You took a deep breath and melted under her touch. she was sitting so close to you. You were inches away rom each other. Her gaze fell on your lips.

The anticipation was unbearable. You were not sure if you could go for much longer like this. You were so close to each other, yet so far away. She closed the gap between you two. Finally. Your lips crashed together. this was the moment you both had been waiting for. The kiss was slow and deep. You were both exploring each others mouths. You felt the fireworks inside you blow up. Cate took her other hand and placed it behind your head for more support, while her other hand was still on your cheek.

You fell on your back never breaking the kiss. She was now on top of you, her one leg between yours and the other next to you. She had placed her other hand next to your head, on the sofa. you continued for a while until she pulled away.

She  snapped back to your reality. She stood up quickly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." She started apologizing. You didn't quite understand what she was apologizing for. "You didn't mean to what?", you looked a bit confused. "To make things complicated", she turned away from you. You were still laying on the couch a bit flustered. She started walking towards the door. "Cate! Wait, don't go!" You tried to stop her. She stopped. She didnt turn around to face you. "I'll check on the pilot." She said loud enough for you to barely hear her. She continued on walking and left the cabin. What the hell was that?
