Cate
You were late to work. It was almost eight a clock. You had a meeting exactly at eight. You were writing a message to your boss that you would be a bit late. you were speed walking. It had been really stressful at work late so you didn't want to annoy your boss anymore. You worked for New York Times magazine. The atmosphere there was really hectic, everyone were in a rush. You had some trouble finding new stories and your job was at stake. You didn't want to get fired. It would have been your end. You already lived in a small studio apartment and could roughly pay your water and electricity bills.
You weren't paying any attention to the traffic around you. People were rushing all over the streets and cars were driving off speed limits. You were just about to make a phone call until you looked away from your phone and saw someone walking towards you. It was too late to slow down your speed. You stumbled to a tall woman. "Oh gosh I'm so sorry, I didn't see you", You tried to explain. "It's okay darling", she responded in a deep voice. You were on your knees picking up your thins that you dropped until you started to process her voice. It sounded oddly familiar. It was like you had seen someone you knew but just could not think of their name.
You looked up at her face and stopped breathing. The woman was wearing a red jacket over a pair of light brown pants and a black west. Now you got it. It was Cate Blancett. Your biggest idol in the world. You had been watching her every interview, movie and everything you could find about her lately. She was even more gorgeous in person than you had imagined. She smiled at you as you were staring at her. You were locked. You could not get a word out of your mouth. You felt so tiny in front of her. "Well I should keep going now", she broke the silence. You woke up from your trance, nodded and stepped out of the way.
In a couple of seconds she was gone. You remembered how to move again. You saw something on the ground. You picked it up and realized what it was. It was her wallet. It was made of leather and smelt like her. You still couldn't believe it. You were holding her wallet. CATE BLANCHETT'S WALLET. You smelled it again. You looked behind you wishing to see her again and return the wallet. She was gone. Somewhere in the crowd. Out of your reach.
You had to go to the police department. The way there was anxious. What if you could see her again. What if you would just return it in person to her front door. NO that would seem really creepy.
At last you were there. When you walked in you saw her at the front desk. She was describing her wallet to a muscular tall male police. The male nodded and wrote everything down. He asked questions like when she had seen it last. Cate explain that in the morning when she payed for her cup of coffee in a local coffee shop.
"Excuse me?" You interrupted their conversation. Cate turned around and saw you holding her wallet. " Oh thank god you found it." "Yeah you dropped it when I ran to you, sorry again for that", you said a bi embarrassed. "I said it was okay, these thing happen". you gave her a shy smile. She smiled back and looked you in your eyes. You legs felt weak. She knew exactly what she did to you. She thanked you again and invited you for a cup of tea at her house.
You were speechless. "Sure", that was the only thing you got out of your mouth. DID CATE BLANCETT JUST INVITE ME TO HER HOUSE? You were already nervous "Well then. Shall we go?", she continued.
