Sylvia ran as fast as her feet could take her. She stumbled as she got onto the dining area. Everyone else was at the table. People were excited to eat the first eggs. Heather was at a table with Monica, Ashley, and Orion. Sylvia tried to look normal. She walked almost as if she had one foot on the ground and the other stuck in a bucket. She took the seat next to Heather.
"Are you not eating?" Ashley asked Sylvia.
"I am not that hungry...." Sylvia's pupils drifted from her companions frisking the room from corner to corner for signs of Ming or her teens. Ming was here longer than a lot of people. Anyone could be one of her soldiers. She did know Heather, Ashley, Monica, and Heather were not soldiers. Orion could be, but Ashley has him wrapped so well on her finger it probably was not the case.
"Heather, are you able to make more of those brain machines like you did for Ashley?" Sylvia blurted out. The stress from having Zach hostage and Ming threatening her getting to her. Heather looked at Sylvia and then continued eating. "Zach is having trouble remembering some of his subjects..." Sylvia lied.
"Why would he need his memories from school?" Heather inquired.
"Ming needs Zach to translate directions from French to English..." Sylvia continued.
"Well I am really good at French. I could come by to help ming after I finish here."
"Heather, ... This is kind of personal. It is about his [Sylvia gestures to above Orion's legs.]. She has had some medical training making her the best suited for the job, "
Heather swallowed the bite she was on. Heather wiped her face. Sylvia and Heather left rather urgently. Briskly they went to the women's home. There Heather picked up a box full of machines she made like Ashley's. "Sylvia, I added a component to share information among wearers. As a child I know there are some things hard to explain. An image of what they saw could pop in the mind of the selected wearers." As Heather got two out, she began putting it down.
"Heather...Just give me all those..."
"Sylvia, I care about Zach too. I will go with you. Just because you..."
"Heather... I am following orders." Heather looked baffled. Sylvia was technically the top here. How is she taking orders...from whom?
"I am going with you now and that is not negotiable!!" Heather ordered.
Sylvia and Heather reached the prototype bowl area. As the women set foot in a bowl, teen soldiers grabbed their arms as well as took the box. Ming emerged from the back.
"Sylvia.. I said no others!" Ming complained. "However, I may need more. Guards! Put them with the other prisoner."
