— Ms. Koo, may I ask you something? - Si-eun approached her boss slowly, sitting down facing her.

Koo Ryeon looked away from her papers and looked at her, nodding.

— Hm, for years I have been dreaming about a person I have never seen. And the dreams are very realistic. Do you know if this has any meaning?

Obviously she withheld the part that this person was a certain reaper named Joong-Gil. Why was that? She wasn't sure.

She watched the woman sigh, and then refocused on the papers on the table.

— They are probably memories from your past life. Some humans can remember certain things. - Koo Ryeon looked at her briefly, seeing Si-eun's curious look. — Usually people only remember defining moments. You must have a red thread connecting you to the person of your dreams, and that's why you remember them.

Si-eun almost choked, even though she wasn't drinking anything.

That meant that she and Joong-Gil...
Impossible.

— You really never saw this person?  - Koo Ryeon asked, her voice betraying her curiosity.

Si-eun hesitated for a moment, then denied it with her head.

Closing the subject, she went back to her desk, trying to distract herself so that she would stop thinking about what her boss had said.

Si-eun was working on a report, while Ryung-gu and Koo Ryeon were talking, when Jun-woong entered the room, agitated.

— I found people who use suicide as a way to make money.

Not containing her curiosity, Si-eun approached Jun-woong, looking at his cell phone screen.

— These are similar to the things I found in Ms. Shin Yenah's room. They only accept cryptocurrencies, so they can't be traced.

— Let's get these bastards. - she said after hearing his explanation.

Jun-woong nodded, but was interrupted by Koo Ryeon.

— No! Don't do anything rash.

Si-eun frowned.

— How is this rash?

Koo Ryeon returned to her desk, sitting down.

— What? You want to find them and bring justice? Don't kid yourselves. That's not our job.

— But... they are helping people kill themselves. Shouldn't we stop them? - Si-eun asked confused. — I don't understand how this is not our job.

— We stop suicide cases, but we don't get involved in the land of the living. We can't interfere in cases like this.

She became quiet. She knew that Koo Ryeon was right, and trying to argue against it would get her nowhere.

Sitting back down, she watched Jun-woong try to debate with the other classmates.

Sometimes she found his moral sense admirable, but even she could recognize that he was out of line.

Seeing Jun-woong leave the office angrily, Si-eun stood up.

— I'm going after him.

After running for a few minutes, she finally caught up with him.

Taking a deep breath, she put her hand on her chest, feeling her heart beating rapidly.

— You walk fast.

He ignored her.

— What are you going to do? - she asked, tilting her head to look at him as she walked in quick steps to keep up.
