Hunter examined himself in the mirror. His outfit wasn't the next one in a fashion show, but it was the first outfit he had ever chosen himself. He felt that the moment was slightly (okay, more than slightly) important
Black sweatpants, and a yellowish/goldish (he wasn't the best at shade naming) button up shirt that he had tied into a knot.
Last but not least, a yellow beanie to cover his very-important-to-not-be-seen pointed ears.
"Looking sick." Gus, his chosen younger brother and bunkmate said. "I don't feel sick." Hunter replied, confused. Gus was wearing a turquouise sweatshirt, white pants, and a blue bucket hat. Fitting his illusion powers accordingly. "You look nice." Hunter said firmly. "Thanks!" Gus smiled before walking out of the room. Hunter looked back in the mirror again. What was human school going to be like? He hadn't even had an experience of school in the boiling isles. Well- one that wasn't partially a boot camp.
Hunter took a deep breath.
Ok, you got this. 6 hours. One day at a time. He thought, attempting to reassure himself.
As he walked out of the door, he felt himself bumping into someone. "Ugh, sorry whoever you are, I can't find my glasses." His face turned a soft pink as he looked to see the captain, who he was standing akwardly close too.
She was wearing something called ripped jeans with a dark green shirt. She had a green bandana on to cover her pointy ears that was patterened with flowers.
Could she look more pretty? Could anyone for that matter?
"I'm hunter." He mumered. "Oh, hey caleb! Could you lead me to the downstairs? I think I idiotically left my glasses down there last night."
The captain could never do anything idioctic. He thought to himself. "Oh, uh, sure." He said blandly. She grabbed his hand. She. grabbed. his. hand. He felt his face getting hot. "Uh, caleb?" The captain asked confused. "My apoligies, captain." He said firmly before beginning to lead her to the staircase. She giggled. He made the captain giggle! Okay hunter, calm down. He lead her down the stairs and then saw her glasses on the coffee table. He grabbed them and handed them to her. "Thanks," she said.
She placed her circular glasses and looked at hunter. "Uh, hey." She said, her stomach fluttering. He was wearing a beanie that sat perfectly on his head, his dark purple eyes glistening at her. A scar on his left cheek. A slight blush resting on his face. He rubbed the back of his neck akwardly. "Um, hi?" He responded. Both of their gazes went to their hands, fingers intertwined with each other.
They both pulled away quickly.
Willow sat down next to gus at the dining table, who was giving a hunter a smirk. Hunter shot him an angry look and gus simply shrugged.
What was that about? She wondered.
"So, who's ready for their first day of human school?" Asked an excited Luz, she was looking forward to going to school with her friends. "I am!" Said gus, he loved learning about humans. Now he could study them up close. Hunter smiled, after all they had been through, it was nice to see gus happy. Amity smiled at Luz. "What are your guys first classes?" Amity said, looking at the rest of the group. Luz's shoulders slumped. "I have...math." She said dramatically as the group let out a small laugh. As the group shared the order of their classes before they had to leave, hunter wasn't exactly paying attention.
