After Ria and Joseph left, Lukas shut the door and follows Jai into the living room.
"Oh, you aren't leaving yet?" She asks in confusion.
"No, umm, Let me help you clean up." He says, picking up the glasses and bringing them to the kitchen.
"You're thinking." Jai says out of nowhere.
"Huh?" Lukas looks at Jai, his eyebrows raised in confusion.
"That look on your face. Your eyebrows are furrowed and your deep in thought." She tells him. "Are you okay?"
"Oh yeah. I'm just wondering." He say, smiling sheepishly.
"Wondering about?" She pushes.
"Why are your parents here? What did Joseph mean when he said he still needs to fix your files?" He blurts out. "I mean, not that I'm being rude or anything, it's just that-"
A hand reaches out to cup his face, instantly calming him and stopping him from rambling.
"Hey." Jai says, looking deep in his eyes. "Breathe."
Lukas leans into her touch and closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath and stares at Jai's comforting eyes.
"Are you calm?" Jai asks.
Lukas nodded, his hand taking Jai's. Fingers brushing her knuckles. He lifts her hand and places a gentle kiss on it.
"Dad and Mum. They found a school that is willing to take me up." Jai explains to him.
"What do you mean 'take you up'?" He asks.
"I'm going abroad, Lukas. I'm moving to Canada. There's this amazing school there who specializes on people like me. Advanced students." She explains thoroughly.
"When?" He asks.
"A month from now." She answered.
Lukas closes his eyes and leans his head on Jai. She lays a kiss on the corner of his lips before letting her forehead touch his. Lukas rests his hands on her hips as Jai clutches the hem of his shirt to keep him close.
As they stood there, feeling each other's warmth. Enjoying each other's presence. A comfortable silence engulfs the both of them. Silently swaying to the soft sound the vinyl across the room emits.
Lukas lets his head fall to her shoulder, as his arms encircle Jai's waist. Jai rests her head on the crook of his neck, her arms over his shoulders.
"I love you, you know that?" Lukas says.
"I love you too, Lukas." Jai answers.
-The Next Day-
The door to Jai's house bursts open and a loud yell was heard throughout the house.
"Jaimie! Wake up!"
A groan emitted from Jai as she covers her face with a pillow and burrows further into the blankets.
"Jai!" Another yell.
"Jaimie!"
"Lovey!"
Finally having enough of the noise she yells,"What!"
Tbe door to her room bursts open and out comes Lukas. Wearing the brightest smile she has seen and a shirt that says, 'If lost call for help.'
"Get up! We need to go!" He says.
"Go the fuck where? I didn't plan to do anything this week." Jai says.
"Exactly, Jaimie. So just get up." He says, looking at Jai with his adorable puppy eyes. "Please?"
"Fine!" Jai says, throwing her covers away.
"Oh and wear this shirt." Lukas says, handing over a black shirt.
"I'm up. Get out." She says.
"I'll wait for you downstairs, okay?" He says to her, smiling adoringly.
"Okay." Jai answers, smiling softly.
Lukas closes the door and leaves Jaimie to get ready.
"This little booger wakes me up at-" Jai looks at the clock beside her bed. "4:30 am!"
Opening the door, Jai yells out, "Why the fuck did you wake me up at 4:30 am?"
"Just get ready, love!" He yells back.
Jai rolls her eyes and slips back to her room to get ready. Picking up the shirt Lukas gave her, she opens it and looks at what was printed on it. It says, 'I'm the help.'
Smiling to herself, Jai grabs her towel and takes a shower. Drying her hair after, she settled with a single braid. Applying light make up and wearing the shirt and a pair of shorts, she went down to the living room.
"Hey, darling." Lukas greets her, not looking up from his phone.
"Where are we going?" She asks.
Lukas looks up and his jaw fell, Jai looked beautiful. No wonder he really likes this girl. He's just afraid to ruin their friendship, even though they already said their 'i love you's' to each other.
"Lukas?"
"We, my love, are going to go see the sunrise." He says getting up from the couch and grabbing her hand, She beams at him.
"Really? Where?" She asks him.
"Beach plaza near the mall." He says. "So get your butt in the car, because we might miss it with your slow ass."
"I'm going, I'm going!" She says and raised her hands in mock surrender.
Lukas opens the door for Jai as they both walked towards his car, a white Audi R8. Lukas unlocks his car and opens the door once again for Jai, being the gentleman he is.
"Watch your head, dumbass." He says, smacking her head down.
"Ow!"
"Slow ass." He goes to the driver's side and gets in, chuckling.
"I'm telling you off to dad. He's gonna hate your ass." Jai threatens him.
"He loves me, he ain't gonna do anything to your boy." He grins.
They set off at a normal drive, singing along to the songs played on the radio, Stealing glances at each other and taking videos to remember the day. They reached their destination just in time. Getting out of the car, Jai took a hold of Lukas' hand and made their way towards the beach. Both of them looked around to find the best place for the sunrise. Jai finds one near the railings.
Deeming the place good, Jai faced the sun with Lukas behind her. Slowly, Lukas snakes his arms around Jai's waist, pulling her close. The sound of the waves crashing against each other was heard. Not a drop of voice nor music was heard.
"Let's make a promise." Jai says. "10 years from now, we'll meet again. In this place, on this date." She added.
Lukas looks down at Jai. Seeing her gazing at the sun, reflecting what the sunrise meant in her life. He kisses her cheek and hugs her close.
"I promise." He says.
