Chapter 6

A week had gone by since the Creed siblings moved to Forks and met their mates, and they've spent most of their time with them and getting to know them.

Alice and Victor are grossly adorable, and super close. Veronica has gotten closer to Emmett and Jasper, but is still taking her time.

Veronica has gotten really close with the rest of the family, her and Rosalie are the best of friends which the others were glad about.

Jasper and Emmett had told Veronica their pasts and how they turned, it made Veronica feel guilty that she still hasn't told them hers.

She's scared that it might scare them off or make them hate her. Victor knows how she feels, and he's been trying to get her to tell them but she's too stubborn.

"Ronnie, you need to tell them. I told Alice and we're still together. I know for a fact that they won't love you less or hate you, just tell them, okay?" Victor said, giving her a look making her groan into her pillow. Her twin left the room, leaving her with her thoughts.

Veronica stared at the ceiling, trying to decide on what she should do and if she was to tell them, how would she do it? Groaning in annoyance, she sat up quickly and grabbed her phone dialling Jasper's number.

"Hello, Darlin. What can i do for you?" She sound of Jasper's voice made all her annoyance disappear and her heart fluttered in delight.

"Hey, Jas. Is Emmett with you, i need to ask you guys something?"

"Yes, he--" Jasper started to say, but let out a painful groan indicating that Emmett had obviously done something to Jasper and took the phone.

"Hey, Kitten. What do ya need?" Veronica chuckled in amusement, shaking her head.

"Can i meet with you guys? I, uh--I need to talk to you about something important" She asked nervously, chewing on her nail.

"Of course, babe. Is something wrong? Are you okay?" Emmett asked, worry evident in his voice.

"I'm fine, Em. Look, can we just meet up at our spot...like now?" Instead of Emmett's voice, it was now Jasper's.

"We'll meet you there, Darlin"

"I'll see you both in a minute" She hung up the phone, quickly putting on her shoes and left the house. Using her speed, Veronica ran into the forest and was at their spot within a minute.

Their spot was a hidden waterfall, flowers everywhere and trees circling around the area.

Emmett and Jasper were the ones who found it while on a hunt, and they took Veronica there on small date. Ever since then, the three would go there pretty much everyday.

When she got there, her eyes landed on her mates and a smile was graced onto her features. Walking over to them, the woman gave them a hug and a kiss on the cheek. When she pulled away from Jasper, he could feel intense feelings of anxiety and fear.

"So, what is it you need to talk to us about?" Emmett asked, as he and Jasper sat down while Veronica stayed standing. When she didn't respond, the two grew worried as they watched her pace back and forth.

"Darlin, what's wrong? I can feel your anxiety and fear" Jasper spoke up, making her stop her pacing and look at her mates.

"I want to tell you guys about my past" She finally spoke up, causing the two to look at her in surprise.

"Babe, you don't have to if you don't want to" Emmett spoke softly.

"No, i need to. It's only fair to you guys. And telling you both would mean that--that we can become official" Veronica explained. Jasper and Emmett looked at each other, then turned back to their mate with comforting smiles.

"Take your time, sweetheart" Jasper nodded. Taking a deep breathe, Veronica sighed and decided to start.

"My brother and I were born in 1830, In Canada. We have a half-brother called James or as he liked to be called, Logan. When Victor and I were 14, and Logan was 11 he killed a man he thought was his dad. The three of us ran away after that, and we never left each others side. We joined the military, although i had to dress as a man for obvious reasons" The next part is what Veronica was nervous to say.

"We fought in the Civil War" She said, and watched as Jasper's face turned to a look of shock.

"We also fought in WW1 and 2, and then the Vietnam war. But years later , something bad happened. Victor and I accidently killed two commanding officers. Of course we got into a lot of trouble, and Logan decided to add himself to the mix. We stood in front a firing squad, but because of what we are, we didn't die which they noticed"

"We got locked into a cell, and after a few days of being locked up, we had a visit from--" Veronica paused at the end, feeling angry at the memories of the man.

"His name was Major William Stryker. He offered us a part in a group he was forming, a group of mutants. We didn't quite know what we signed up for, but it turned out we were hunting down other mutants. Back then, Victor and I didn't really care for the consequences of our actions. In a way, we kind of enjoyed it" The woman winced in shame, as she continued.

"In 73', Logan was done and left the group. Victor and I were angry that he left us, which made us angry. Vengeful and looking for blood, and we didn't care. In 78', Stryker told me i had a mission but it turned out he wanted to experiment on me" Both Jasper and Emmett's faces turned cold and angry at the thought of someone harming their mate.

"I'm not overly sure what he did, but i know that my senses were heightened even more. I was faster, stronger and i could shift into a tiger which i was never able to do before. After that, Victor decided it was better if we left. So we did. We moved to Seattle, and we tried to live normally after that. Being that we don't age, we had to move around a lot"

"But after we moved, it seemed that my past stayed with me. The guilt was so intense. All the people and mutants that I killed, all because we were told what we were doing was right. Nightmares weren't new to me, from the moment we joined the military i would have constant nightmares" By now, tears had started to fall down her face as she relived her wrong doings.

"As the years went on, the nightmares and guilt got worse. I wake up screaming, my bedding and pillows shredded. There are times when Victor wakes me up, I'm stuck in a nightmare and I end up attacking him thinking he's an enemy"

"He tries so hard to make our lives as normal as possible, but there's no such thing as normal when you're a mutant" Veronica laughed dryly, wiping her tears off her face"

"We keep to ourselves because we hate humans, except for maybe a select few. We've never been apart in the 174 years we've been alive" Looking to her mates, her frown turned into a fond smile.

"When we moved here to Forks, we didn't know that we would find our mates. I will admit, when i saw you two in the cafeteria i was very overwhelmed" She said, making the three laugh.

"That would explain the running away part" Jasper drawled.

"Well, it's rare to have two mates. Plus, with my past---i felt as though i didn't deserve to have a mate let alone two. I was and still am ashamed of my past, which is why i was so hesitant to get to know you and possibly partake in a relationship with you both. I was worried that i would scare you off and that you would hate me for all that I've done"

"I really hope that you two can accept me for all of me, because I don't think i could handle you two not being in my life" Veronica admitted sheepishly, feeling her cheeks heat up.

All that could be heard in that moment, were the birds, swaying of the trees and the waterfall.

Veronica grew nervous when her mates didn't say anything, and she started to fear the worst. But that all changed when she was suddenly pulled into a group hug, her being in the middle of Jasper and Emmett.

"We don't care about your past, or what you did. We accept you as our mate, Darlin" Jasper spoke softly, holding her body against his in a tender embrace.

"You're silly to think we wouldn't accept you, or hate you. We love you for who you are. You're stuck with us now, kitten" Veronica giggled at Emmett's response, her hand grabbing his large one and squeezing it as the three continued the group hug.
