Chapter 8

It was a few days after Bella came to the school, and Edward decided to go to Alaska for a week. The family weren't entirely happy about it, but the boy thought it would be wise to get himself under control so he doesn't kill Bella.

Veronica was in the lounge room with Victor watching an old film, when the door bell rang. The twins looked at each other, both staring at each other.

Veronica blinked making her groan in annoyance, making her stand from her seat and went to open the door.

When she opened the door, she saw Charlie Swan and Bella. Veronica wanted to groan in disgust, but stopped herself and gave Charlie a genuine smile and Bella a fake smile.

"Charlie, it's good to see you" She smiled, giving the man a quick hug.

"You too, Veronica. I guess you know my daughter Bella?" Charlie asked, pointing to the girl beside him.

"Sure do, we have biology together" Veronica replied.

"Well, we came over wondering if you and your brother wanted to come over for dinner tonight" Charlie suggested with a smile. Veronica would've said no if it was anyone else, but her and Victor actually liked Charlie.

"Yeah, sure. That sounds great. What time suits you?" The woman answered, glancing at Bella who now smelt of annoyance.

"Come at 7. You guys eat meat, right?" The man asked.

"Yeah, my brother and i are carnivores" Veronica chuckled, making the man chuckle along with her while Bella just rolled her eyes.

"Great, we'll see you at 7" With that, the two said goodbye and Veronica closed the door. Walking back into the lounge room, the woman looked at her brother with an annoyed look on her face.

"I'm guessing you heard all of that?" She asked, collapsing on the couch.

"Yeah, we're having dinner with Charlie and his spawn. Why did you say yes?" Victor asked exasperated.

"We like Charlie, and I would've felt guilty saying no. We'll just have to endure being in the same room as Bella. Maybe we can try and figure out what's off--" Veronica started to say, but was cut off when the door bell rang again.

"It's your turn, Vicky" She snickered, gaining a flick on the ear from her twin. Veronica got up from the couch, and walked into the kitchen to get some food. Looking through the fridge and freezer, the woman decided to heat up some left overs.

While waiting for her food to warm up, Veronica got herself and Victor a beer. And just as she was about to turn, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around her waist. Not even flinching, the woman already knew who it was by the familiar scent. Jasper.

"Hello, Ma'am" He purred, lightly kissing her neck. Veronica hummed softly, leaning into body more and rested her hands a top his.

"Good to see you, Major" She smiled softly, turning in her mates arms to face him. She looked into his golden eyes, and felt herself falling in love again. Jasper felt her strong feelings towards him, making his smile widen.

"Where's Em?" She asked, resting her head in the crook of his neck enjoying the smell of his scent.

"He's hunting at the moment, but he said he'll meet us here" Jasper answered, as he held his mate closer to him.

Veronica slowly pulled away from Jasper, when the microwave went off. Grabbing her food and drinks, her and Jasper walked out to the lounge room.

The woman saw Rosalie, Ian and Alice sitting around the coffee table. Handing a beer to her brother, Veronica placed her food and drink on the table, and was instantly pulled into a hug by Alice.
