NEVER KNEW

I once wrote about a man guiding me in dreams
to finally see him while he endures for me.
It felt like a maze with a tinge of déjà vu,
standing among the crowd on the day I met you.
We were lost for a while before you found me there—
I never knew you were charmed with the red I wear.

The masks hiding us didn't stop the attraction—
when we took it off, we never knew from there on
this will be something new—better than what was known.
Still being careful as to mistakes we were prone,
if it is, put on a bandaid, all will be fine—
the day felt like a song, your eyes never left mine.

Hours were spent in front of you, beside you; with you,
both startled as you poked my cheek out of the blue—
I never knew you held back from touching my hand
like in a simple movie, but enchanted to tell;
someone unique to you, someone different to me—
no one expected this, everyone would agree.
