Summer! An amazing season for everyone. Well, almost everyone. Kristen Wilson didn't expect to be working at Scoops Ahoy, the new ice cream place at Starcourt Mall. And she definitely didn't expect to be working with Steve "The Hair" Harrington and her girlfriend, Robin Buckley.
Recently, her little sister Amber came out to her as a lesbian. Now, obviously she was scared for her as it was the 80s. Amber had no idea about Kristen's sexuality, and she wanted to keep it that way at least for a little while. Amber was dating her best friend, Max Mayfield, and Kristen could just tell she was much happier.
Kristen currently had a shift at Scoops Ahoy, and she was currently behind the counter with Robin, giving people their ice cream. Amber then came in with her friends, Mike, Lucas, Will, Dustin, and Max. Mike immediately started ringing the bell, signaling that he was asking for Steve.
All summer, Steve has been letting the kids sneak into the movies, using the back hallway that delivered came in. Kristen found it ridiculous, but she knew that if Starcourt existed when she was younger, she would've tried that.
"Hey, dingus, your children are here," Robin spoke to Steve who was sitting in the back.
"Again? Seriously?" Steve asked as he came and opened the back door for the kids.
"Hey, be careful," Kristen said, nudging her little sisters arm.
Steve let the kids use the passageway once again, immediately calling out to them.
"I swear, if anybody hears about this—""We're dead!" They called back to him.
Just several moments later—Steve had gotten back to work by now—the power in the whole mall cut out.
"That's weird," Steve stated. He went over to the light switch, continuously flipping it on and off.
"That isn't gonna work, dingus."
"Oh, really?" Steve challenged her. He started flipping it on and off even faster, making Kristen roll her eyes.
"You're gonna break it," Kristen said.
"Am not."
"Are too."He flipped it on just as the power came back.
"Let there be light," he spoke as Robin and Kristen shared a look.-
It was the next morning, and Max was over at the house. Kristen was the only one home, so she just let them do whatever. They just needed to keep the door open a few inches.
