Akali's POV
The radio played a soft tune as I drove quietly towards nowhere. I'm not exactly confined to Jujutsu Tech and so I relish in my freedom.
(Incoming Call: Sugar Baby💋💋💞🔨)
I shook my head in amusement as I used my left hand to answer my phone. It was the silly nickname Nobara had set on my phone as she gave me her number that one time and I didn't change it.
I can't.
I don't know how these things work.....that well.
"Kali-chaaaaaaan!!! Where are you??"
"I'm just driving around Tokyo, I don't know exactly know where but I'm probably near. What's up?"
"We have a mission and a manager is coming with us!! Her name is Akari Nitta. I'll tell you the deets later, so come pick us up!"
"Sure. You all are still in Jujutsu Tech right?"
"Yep"
"I'll be there in 30 or so."
I ended the call without waiting for her reply since there was another incoming. Eh, I'll just apologize to her later or something.
I almost stopped the car completely as I looked at the caller ID.
"....Daisuke."
"Hello Kali-chan. How's school treating- PLEASE DONT KILL ME I BEG YOU-"
I sighed.
"You're still in business huh?"
"Yeah, sorry about that. I already missed you so much and you haven't even called in an entire month!! I'm so worried, you know??"
The road towards Jujutsu Tech looked dreary as I went through them again. It was raining a little when I got out so it was a little slippery. Another sigh was involuntarily made by me.
As much as I wanted to hide it, I admit I missed Daisuke.
"I know. I'm sorry. Everything's been a mess lately and I'm really stressed..."
"...it must be very hard for you Kali. Remember not to overload yourself okay? You might be an angel, but you're still my Kali. You can come back here whenever you want."
I smiled ever so faintly as I swerved over a curve and finally reached my destination.
"Thanks......Dad."
There was a very loud gasp behind the phone as he clearly went faraway from the phone, but not far away enough that Akali can't hear him.
"EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP AND FINISH WHAT YOU'RE DOING, KALI JUST CALLED ME DAD!!!"
"UWOOOOOOOOHHHHH!!!!!"
"RELEASE THE FUCKING PEACOCKS, WE'RE HAVING A MASSIVE PARTY!!"
"I can still hear you, you know?"
