❝i'm trying, but he's hot.❞▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Juniper McKennan's fear of her father grew mightier each day that passed. Every day she found something new that surprised her about him, she'd always say he couldn't surprise her anymore, but he'd always find something.
Not only that, but she had grown a burning hatred for guns. They disgusted her.
Like this moment, sitting at the breakfast table, only the two of them, because her mother had an appointment in the salon she owns. The two sat in an uncomfortable silence, June drinking her tea and Matthew reading the paper while smoking a cigarette.
She stood up in one swift move, her curls bouncing behind her as she moved, to put her unfinished glass of tea in the sink. She remained quiet while leaving, she thought Matthew didn't even realize there was any movement going on around him.
The keys of her black Jeep were laying in her hand before she used them to open the car door and hop in.
She used the time she was driving to think about yesterday, one of the best days she's had in a while.
No, what was she even doing? She couldn't just let go like that around him, that wasn't allowed. But if it wasn't allowed, than why did it feel so real and natural?
She didn't know the answer, but she couldn't let some metalhead nerd make her forget her reputation. She had to get him out of her head, no matter how much fun she had the day before.
By the time she made up her mind about the situation, June had driven onto the Walshes street. She would pick up Luca every day to go to school together, since Luca wasn't the best driver and preferred not to drive at all.
She hadn't even stopped yet when she saw the brunette walking out of her house, she waved back to her parents before turning around and smiling at June. Luca jogged the last few steps to get in the car, "Morning, Juney!"
"Morning, Walsh." she replied, driving off the Walsh estate.
"Have you heard?" Luca asked eagerly, earning a sigh from June, she was about to start gossiping again. She looked at her friend expectantly with her brow raised, "So, I heard Nancy Wheeler, you remember her, right?" June nodded, "Apparently things aren't going well between her and her boyfriend.."
June stopped listening after that, she had no interest in hearing yet another couple's relationship problems. She didn't find happiness in other's issues. Thing is, people always assume it was her who spread all the rumours while Luca just hid behind her back, scared to get caught.
