Yoon took little steps. She wasn't in a hurry. There was no one around her to make her hurry up. It was always this peaceful by the pipes. Before the towns of Perfection and Uglyville merged, the cliff hiding the pipes was a great wall dividing worlds. Worlds so different, yet so alike.
Yoon looked up. The sun started to set. She hadn't decided about the party yet. It was really not her cup of tea. But at the same time, it was the restart, that she wanted, wasn't it? If she hurt the feelings of her new friends, she would never get to be someone else. Not the old Yoon, the old one, that tried to act up, following the rules, that she couldn't keep. For a certain someone. Who didn't even search for her, at the top of his fame, when she disappeared. Her "friends" went to the Big World. Lily, Mia, Rowan. They were all gone. Yoon looked down at the seaside. Moxy and Ox were enthusiastically orginising every bit of the party. But when something wasn't the way, it was supposed to be, they just laughed it off, or were happy it turned out even better, than anticipated.
She turned on her heels. She still had plenty of time to visit Lou. And she was asked to go to the party. By Ox, the mayor himself. Courtesy dictates, that she shows up.
She brushed her clothes, washed her face, and reached for her hair. She hadn't let her hair down in a while. In a long while. Last she had let it down, was when she brushed her hair before the Gauntlet. She shivered at the thought. That was the day, she condemned herself to self isolation. There was no way she could've survived in Perfection if they knew her secret.
She let her hair down. The messy yarn fell gently on her shoulders, two long stripes becoming visible behind her back. She turned to the side, and checked them. They were still very unaesthetic. She took one of the hairties and pulled her hair into a ponytail. She finished getting ready with cleaning her shoes.
She stepped out of her house, and headed towards the beach.
"Yoon!" - Moxy shouted as soon as she caught sight of the shy doll lurking at the side of the crowd.
Yoon turned to the voice. She smiled faintly.
"I thought you would'nt even come! Last time you weren't here." - the gleeful uglydoll hugged Yoon. Yoon shivered at the touch.
"I'm so sorry, I forgot!" - Moxy apologised.
"It's nothing... I should really try to be more sociable..." - answered Yoon.
"Anyway!" - Moxy perked up again. - "I'd like you to meet a really good friend of mine, I'm sure you two would be a great match!"
"Oh, rea..."
Moxy grabbed Yoon's hand and pulled her into the sea of dolls partying. She hit a shoulder here, stepped on a foot there. The dolls around didn't mind, they were busy enjoying themselves. Moxy and Yoon stopped in front of a group of of pretty dolls. One had a golden sign hanged around his neck. He was talking to a girl with hair in a tight bun.
"Mandy, Nolan, I'd like to introduce someone!" - Moxy squealed with excitement.
The girl with the tight bun and the boy with the sign turned to them. They smiled at Yoon.
"Guys, this is Yoon!" - Moxy stepped to the side, giving some space to the aforementioned dollgirl.
"Hi..."
"It's nice to meet you Yoon!" - Mandy, the girl with the tight bun winked at her.
"Yeah, it's nice to meet you." - Nolan, the boy with the sign nodded.
"Would you like a drink?" - Mandy asked. Yoon nodded. She felt a little bit awkward.
"I like your hair." - Nolan pointed to her ponytail.
