Chelsie was raised by her father, her mother having passed away at birth. At the age of four, she was sold away as a slave. Her master, going by the name Jolennto, would beat her due to her silent nature and deceptive behaviour. Within two years, the man grew tired of her. He shoved her out of the car as they were driving down the highway, ditching her as he drove away without a second thought. Chelsie was only seven then.
Learning to live alone on the streets was difficult at first, but she watched the older homeless people steal and learned how to get away with illegal things. She soon found herself perfectly picking pockets without a care in the world. But of course, the streets at night weren't safe for a young, defenseless girl. She was careful about being seen at night, hiding in the shadows of dumpsters and occasionally trees.
At the age of ten, she joined a gang. They usually kept in touch by phone, but being that she didn't have one, she always stayed near another member. They decided to rob a bank. It was done quickly and successfully, no trouble with the cops at that time. The gang leader said he would evenly spilt the profits and meet in a week to give out the portions. They ended up meeting in an abandoned warehouse. Chelsie felt unsafe in the center of an open location, so she hid near a rooftop entrance, ready to escape if something went wrong. As soon as the last member showed up, cops had the leader at gunpoint. She managed to escape, thinking she was off the hook, but only two day later, she was arrested. This being her first major crime and at such a young age, the chief of police agreed to drop the charges if she went to a family home.
They both traveled all around the town, looking for a place for her to live, but each one they visited was full. They soon reached the last home: the Leonine estate. The head of the house said there was no more room; the last place was taken by a young boy that would be arriving that day. He did, however, offer her a job as a maid. It would be the only way she could stay at the home. Chelsie agreed to work there.
Mrs. Leonine led her to the room she would be staying in, laying he new uniform on the bed before leaving. Chelsie cleaned herself up well, but it had been years since she worked as a maid. A knock on her door caused her breath to hitch momentarily out of fear, but another servant stepped inside, teaching her the rules of the house. She went to meet the family, all of them being seated in the dining hall.
