"This won't be like the rest of the homes, Carson. Will you just trust me?" The currently red-headed boy looked at his temporary guardian, shaking his head. "I know you've struggled in the past, but the Leonine's are different. There are many children there all different ages, personalities, and appearances. You should be able to find a great group of friends."
Carson had moved from family home to family home, always being kicked out due to his outgoing and occasionally aggressive character. He disliked having servants and personal maids. Slavery was wrong, no matter what the sort. He usually spoke disrespectfully to his guardians in attempts to let the servants live there.
Knowing that this family home was rich, he knew that the same situation would happen. Maybe a new approach would work. If he got a personal maid again, he would treat her just like the other kids. Make her feel more comfortable. If given permission, he would let her dress in her own comfort and go where she pleased.
"Okay," he replied, finally giving in. Carson packed up his things and followed his guardian out to the car, sitting in the front seat and smirking slightly. Within twenty minutes, he was standing in front of the new building as the car drove away behind him.
He made his way inside and met his new father and mother, which he would call respectfully Mr. or Mrs. Leonine. He sat next to Mr. Leonine, looking around at all of the small cliques the children had already created. He might just be a floater, not usually in the popular groups yet not fitting the nerdy profile.
"Chelsie, please introduce yourself to my family," Mr. Leonine said to a young maid. Her hair was blonde, her eyes a light brown colour. She positioned herself next to the head of the house, bowing respectfully.
"Hello. My name is Chelsie. I have had much experience as a maid. I hope I will be able to serve you well," she said, her voice laced with a mixture of different accents. She then stepped back after another bow, positioning herself near the wall. Carson had a feeling she would be his personal maid.
