Steve

"I wanted it." What the fuck was that meant to mean, he settled into his seat next to Nancy as she put the key back into the ignition and revved the engine. He leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
"Hey babe," he smiled at her.
"Hi... the um, you guys won that match today." Nancy smiled back at him as they both carried on gossiping about people on the team and Steve couldn't help but roll his eyes at her constant pestering on whether he was ok. She never asked about Vienna and he was extremely grateful.
The car fell into a comfortable silence in the last few minutes of the ride.
"So uhm, what were you doing with Vienna so late after school today?" Fucking jinxed it holy shit.
"I broke a rib earlier so she took ages sorting that out..." He lied, well technically he probably had broken a rib but he didn't mention what had happened with Vienna. Not that it was really his thing to tell anyways, but he completely failed to mention the intimacy of it all.
Nancy let out a quiet hum of approval and smiled at him as she pulled into his driveway. He stepped out of the car and ran around to the younger girl's side. Nancy opened her door and stood up, reaching for his face. She brought their foreheads together and he ran his hand through her hair.
"I love it when you do that." She sighed and smiled at him.
"Yeah um.. Nancy loves it when I do that."
"I know you do, baby." He pressed a soft kiss to her lips and she smiled into it. The girl ducked back down into the car and Steve closed the door for her. He walked up the driveway and waited at the front door till Nancy's car drove away.
Vienna, Vienna, Vienna. Fuck.
He couldn't get her out of his head. "Mom? Dad?" Nope and nope. It wasn't surprising to Steve, he was honestly a little grateful that he wouldn't have to face his father tonight. He walked into the kitchen and pulled a 6 pack out of the fridge, which he didn't remember picking up but was still extremely happy to find. He lugged it up the stairs with him, trying his best to ignore the pain in his shoulder as he did so.
He threw the beers down onto his bed and walked over to the stupidly large record collection and picked up the first one he could find and placed the record into his player. Tainted Love by Soft Cell began to play over the speaker of his record player. He laid down on his bed and opened up a can of beer and began to nod his head along to the rhythm until he realised that he was too tired to even do that.
He flopped down onto his bed and closed his eyes, still attempting to drink the beer but missing his mouth half the time.
Don't touch me please, I cannot stand the way you tease.
Vienna.
I love you though you hurt me so.
Vienna.
Steve slammed his drink down onto his bedside table and grabbed a pillow. He pressed it into his face and yelled like a teenage girl would. No matter how tired he was he knew he wouldn't be getting to sleep anytime soon.
Eventually, Steve gave into the fact that he needed to do something other than drink himself into a black out, so he got up out of the bed and began to run a cold shower to try and shake the thoughts he knew were wrong.
