Anne's POV
I woke in the early hours the sun was just barely up. I looked around seeing Marcy. She had gone to sleep full and mainly happy. I tried lifting myself and stopped from the weight of Marcy Wu. She clung to me in her sleep and rested on my lap. I watched as she slept peacefully. She stirred until her eyes gingerly fluttered open. "good morning, how do you feel," I asked "Sick," Marcy gave me the cheap response that I expected. I did the same thing as the other day and let Marcy sit on my lap while I made food. This time though Sasha came over and helped get the shell of a certain kind of bug. I acted nice, oblivious, to what happened. Sasha seemed a little suspicious, but overall believed the act I was playing. All of us were kina tired of bugs and the limited fruit we had. So Sasha made a fish net and we hoped it worked, but as we went there seemed to be less and less fish. Just like yesterday, I cut Marcy's food. A bitter breeze whipped by. Sasha closed her eyes, and I Clutched Marcy. Suddenly we hit something. We all looked over to the back. Sasha ran over stopping. "wow," Sasha said. My interest rising at its peak I stood up, carrying Marcy over "whoa-a," Marcy made sounds gripping my shirt for dear life. The rest of the lake froze over. "what happened," I asked "I think the cold season came earlier over here," Marcy said lazily. "I guess we're staying on the ice for tonight," Sasha said. "finally," Marcy said happily leaving the worst place imaginable, at least to her. I stepped down letting Marcy stand for herself. The ice, of course, was super slippery Marcy later about 0.001 seconds, yet longer than I was expecting. She sat there slowly sliding due to the slant. Sasha and I stepped down. "Hey, Sash, you got a tent," I asked "sure do," She said Getting her backpack out and pulling up a green tent. we tacked it down carefully into the thick frosty ice. Marcy becoming herself again, especially after getting off and eating said "I'm surprised this ice is so thick since cold season came earlier," While trying to get closer from sliding rather far away. "I'm glad your feeling better Mars," I said grabbing her hand and pulling her closer to the tent. "That's a new one," Marcy said "A new what," I asked "Nickname," Marcy happily exclaimed. "yeah I guess it is," I wondered. "alright, I'll be taking a nap if you need me," Sasha announced. Marcy and I sat there tied with a vine to keep ourselves from sliding too far from camp. We sat in a comfortable silence "hey, Marce, remember the game we used to play at the duck, pond once it froze over," I asked "of course," Marcy replied. I stood, giving my hand to grab. Marcy took it but slipped down almost as soon as she stood. I chuckled at her flusterdness while walking over to untie ourselves from the tent. We tied ourselves together and started off further from the camp to have room to play our game. Marcy and I sat down, I pushed Marcy with the slant and that made us go sledding super fast.
