Nessa's POVHe was becoming more and more crueler, and secretive. How could he have kept this from me? I trusted him, I confided in him, and he was one of them the whole time. He was supposed to save me! I was supposed to save him. We were supposed to hear each other, to tell each other everything, even the tiniest shit. The pointless shit. The shit that I wouldn't tell another soul. I trust him. His soul. He was so pure. And then I think of everything. He was everything, anyone could ask for. He was him.
He was my safe place, my best friend, my ride-or-die, but he had to be one of them. What makes me upset and pissed is he did it willingly and didn't even think to tell me he was one after I cried and had a fucking mental breakdown over this.
All I want is to run into his arms and cry and talk to him, but I don't trust him. After I left him, I went to the only place I knew I was safe. The astronomy tower. I always used to sneak up here at night to get away from everything. I Remember I started doing it in my second year.
Flashback
It was late at night, and I was wandering the halls. I stumbled across this door and opened it the flight of stairs was endless. When I got to the top, I saw this girl sitting there. Her hair was Dark brown, and it sounded like she was crying. I went up to her and we talked she seemed pretty sweet. She told me, she was going off to bed and thanked me for cheering her up. I didn't get her name till a week later.
End of flashback
Since that day in my second year, it has always been my place to go when I want to be alone. That was also the first time I met Emmy. I also thought she was a Hufflepuff till I saw her in the Slytherin common room two weeks later after we met. When I made it up to the top, I saw a figure that had hair as white as snow. I knew it was Draco I always knew when it was him.
Draco's POV
Mom sent me a letter today saying I needed to come home it was urgent. I knew what it was about. It worried me that Emmy would be here alone even though I knew she could care for herself. I went to the astronomy tower to clear my head.
I hadn't been there too long before I felt someone's presence. I knew who it was, but I don't think they would have dared to come out from the shadows if I didn't say anything.
"I know you're here Love."
She didn't say anything but walked towards me. She looks so tired; her eyes were a bit swollen.
I knew I would regret this later, but I pulled her into a hug, her sobs filled my ears, her hands clinged tightly unto my shirt. She kept saying I'm sorry over and over again, but I didn't know why she was saying sorry to me.
I pulled away from her and kissed her forehead. She lifted her head and looked at me before she took a deep breath.
" I need to show you something." She whispered.
I nodded my head, and she rolled up her sleeve she didn't dare to look at me after she did.
I didn't understand why she rolled up her sleeve until I looked at her arm. She had the mark.It all makes sense now. Why she's been acting different, why she's been becoming distant, but I can't figure out why she ended things with me. I couldn't help but be pissed at her, upset her with her, she knew how I felt about the deatheaters especially since my father is one. I told her all the stories my dad used to tell me as a kid about the deatheaters but she still became one. Even after all the gruesome details and all the horrified faces that paint my mind when I see my father's face. I picture what he has done to innocent people who didn't have a say in what position they landed in.
All we knew growing up was between right and wrong or in other words mudbloods and purebloods. I always was told it was a sin to side with mudbloods or even half-bloods but personally, it didn't matter what their status was they were just my fellow peers. I thought she felt the same way ever since that time when the four of us had a deep conversation in 3rd year.
Flashback
Nessa and Tom had just sat down on the couch across from me and Emmy. Ever since Nessa introduced Emmy to the group, we have been getting close. We had a tradition ever since we started the group that we would sit down and talk about how we were doing or just random stuff one day during the week. Today just happened to be that day. Nessa and Tom were already talking about something but what's new they are always together and talking about something.
"So how was everyone's week so far?" Nessa asked while looking at me.
Emmy started first talking about her subjects and quidditch. Then Tom spoke about how he was doing in his courses and how he got a letter from his father. That must have perked Emmy's interest because she sat up straight and perked her ears. I do remember Nessa telling Tom and me that Emmy's parents are dead so she may be interested because she doesn't get letters, nor does she get the experiences we do.
"What are your parents like?" She barely whispered, but we all heard her over the sound of the cackling fire. All of us froze when she asked us that. Emmy didn't know the stories we were told by our parents nor how we were expected to be perfect in their eyes. Nessa was the first one to speak up.
"Well, my parents are lovely, my mom is a well-known witch who was at the top of her class. My dad is basically the same and they were both in Slytherin. They are great to me and are friends with Draco and Toms's parents. The only thing I would change is that they didn't expect me to be "perfect" all the time" she said all of that with a sad smile.
End of flashback
I think she knew what I was thinking about. Her next words catch me by surprise.
" But aren't we all sinners?" She said sarcastically, wiping her tears on her sleeve, before she slammed the door.
