That Day in Marley

"Zeke what happened?!" a loud scream of a girl was heard in a small alley of Marley, "why are your parents being arrested?" a confused look was shown in the 12-year-old girl, her blue eyes were looking at the young boy in front of her. "Lily.... my parents...I turn them into the military ..." a young boy still feels a little regret after what he did, and the girl Lily has no choice but to comfort the young boy who is about to cry, his parents are part of a group who wants to overthrow the Marley government and put the Eldian's back to the power. She wants to be mad 'Why on earth does this boy turn his parents in and cry after' She can't believe it. His parents and her parents were close, even her family was part of the nobility in the Marley.

Mr. And Mrs. Yeager were so good to her, though she also witnessed how they pressured Zeke into an honorary Marleyan and a warrior candidate. " Hey shhh shhh calm down Zeke, maybe they will understand what you did....? you know I know that you have a fault in this but they also have a fault in why they're arrested. Don't worry me and my parents are willing to help you. Also, your grandparents are still here with you, if the Marley Government lacks of evidence against your parents then they will be free again." Lily was trying to cheer up the young boy who was staring at the blank wall in front of them, after the minutes they stayed quiet the young boy looked to the girl name lily as what he called, it was her nickname its the same as the beautiful flower. One thing sinks in his mind 'I must protect lily, My lily......, My beautiful lily' at that moment he already made an oath to protect the girl in front of him no matter what.

"Zeke, it's my birthday tomorrow I hope you will come to my house. Father is planning for a small celebration" a small smile was flashed on the face of the little girl as she ask the young boy to come to her birthday, "Yeah, of course, I will come. It's your special day!! But I will be late since we have a training in morning " he was excited that finally, lily can attend to class with him. "It's fine!! as long as you will come, also I have something to give you" her eyes also disappear as she was smiling so widely, Zeke was staring at her. The blond hair that is beautiful when the sun hit it, her eyes that looks like the clear blue water from the sea, and a small black dot near her eyes, what a beautiful sight to see. "Then see you lily, ill bring a gift for you tomorrow!!" the boy start to run after he saw his grandparents looking for him. The young girl were laughing seeing him running towards his grandparents, when he was almost stumble.

The next day, the young boy name Zeke was excited to come home while holding a flower that he will bring to lily's birthday. He was welcomed by Mr. Ksaver and his grandparents with a gloomy look, he was confused why does his grandparents look at that maybe because of his parents, that's the only reason he can come up with. "Zeke....how are you?" the man name tom asks him as he put down his bag, "Im fine mister ksaver!! im actually in a hurry since lily is waiting for me, it's her birthday today!!" zeke excitedly explains to the man who gives him a gloomy look. "zeke, I have to tell you something...." he was confused on how Mr. Ksaver's tone, "Lily and her parents were massacred last night, an intruder killed them. The military have theory that maybe the reason they were killed due to the fact that they're associated with your parents". The excited and joyful look disappears upon hearing the news, his mind can't digest what just Mr. Ksaver said to him.

"Mr. Ksaver, it's impossible how on earth their house was intrude?! Their family is noble and highly respected in this country!! and also......." the boy paused for a moment as his tears are dripping from his eyes, "it's lily's birthday.... she planned to celebrate it with me....no this is a joke.... I won't......I won't listen to all of you!!!" he run to her house after saying it to his grandparents, he saw a car--ambulance in front of their house. His knees weakened after seeing a body with cover, a bloodstain was appearing on the white cloth. A small hand fell in front of him, all he do was stare at the hand that is wearing a silver bracelet with a flower design on it. He knows who owned that bracelet, it can't belong to everyone, he was the one who made that bracelet and give it to...........lily. 

The moment he realized that it was lily who was being carried by the Marley police, a flashback of lily's face was all he saw. Her eyes always disappear every time he will make a joke and the comforting hands that lily always holds Zeke's face every time he cried. The warmth that lily brings to him suddenly disappears. He stays there until all people disappear in front of the mansion, he suddenly entered the house to check what happened. A bloodstain was seen in the floor in front of the door who he thinks that it was the blood of their maid, a huge family picture welcoming him as he enter. A tall man with blond hair standing near woman who have brown hair and blue eyes with a 8-year-old little girl was sitting on her mother's lap.

The huge picture was surrounded by small pictures, he walked into the grand stairs that leads to the second floor of the house he's familiar with the rooms since he always sneaks in from lily's window. He ran to her bedroom hoping to see her or any trace of her, he saw the white bedsheet stained with blood. He can't accept it, how on earth happened, he was just talking and laughing with lily yesterday at the alley. He took the picture on the bedside table, it was the picture of lily smiling widely while wearing a white dress. He notice the blue box near the picture, his name was written on the box. As he opened the box a white paper beneath the paper is a glasses. Before he took the glass he read the content of the letter,

'To My Dearest Zeke,

I know it's my birthday but I want to give these glasses to you. You said that your eyes are a little bit blurry so I'm hoping this will help you to see things clearly, i personally ask father to get this when he have business trip across to other countries. You know I'm really thankful to have you as my friend. But do you really want to be a titan shifter? While I was walking in the street I stop by a small bookstore, I read a book about titans. That if you inherit or become a titan shifter your life span will be shortened, I don't want you to die young zeke. I want to stay with you and die peacefully in bed. But if this really you want then I will support you no matter what, I love you.....

After reading the letter she just stare at the wall of lily's bedroom, it was dark since the rain was pouring so hard. Does he really want to become a titan shifter or he just wants it because of pressure he gets from his parents?. He was determined to be a strong warrior he always says to Lily, before leaving the room he took the handkerchief and put it in his beige shorts. He wants to be a warrior and avenge lily, for him all he just wants is to have revenge for killing lily, and make her proud. As he walk down the stairs he saw a paper with a name on it, it was actually a document of lily for entering the school. Her full name was written on the paper beside her picture, Maria Evangeline Adeline Verdin-Smith. The name of his only love, he then write beside the smith is yeager, Maria Evangeline Adeline Verdin Smith—Yeager.
