THIRD PERSON'S POINT OF VIEW
"Well then, I hereby declare that the responsibility of Eren Yeager will be given to the Survey Corps under the supervision of Captain Levi Ackerman and Duchess Evangeline Smith," the judge had pronounced, setting the stage for their current meeting.
The Survey Corps, along with Mikasa, Armin, and Eren, gathered in the opulent office of Duchess Evangeline Smith. They had just won Eren's trial with her crucial support, but now faced the daunting task of planning how to utilize Eren's Titan abilities.
Erwin surveyed the room. It was elegantly furnished, with shelves lined with books and artifacts from a bygone era. Despite its grandeur, it was devoid of the woman they had come to see. As they settled in, Hange couldn't contain her curiosity and began bombarding Eren with questions about his Titan form.
Before Eren could respond, voices outside the room captured their attention."Why did you side with the Survey Corps, Evangeline? Because I don't quite understand why you would do that," Nile Dok's voice carried through the door.
"As I've said earlier, it was for the benefit of the people. Instead of wasting the boy's potential, we can use it for our benefit," a soft but stern voice replied. "Besides, if you think the reason is because of my brother, then you don't know me very well." Erwin and the others exchanged glances, recognizing the voice of Evangeline Smith, the woman who had been instrumental in their victory. The door screeched open, and the Duchess herself entered, her presence commanding immediate attention.
"Oh! I didn't mean to startle you all! I just wanted to check if Eren is comfortable. Don't worry, you won't stay in my office; you'll reside at my estate," Evangeline said with a soft smile that seemed to calm everyone, especially Eren, whose nerves had been frayed since the trial.
"Are you referring to the Smith estate?" Erwin asked, memories of his childhood home flooding back. He recalled his last farewell to his crying sister, his silent older brother, and his calm mother.
"Yes, since I'm the only one living there, along with some staff. You all are also my responsibility now," Evangeline replied, walking to her desk and picking up an open book. Levi noticed a small illustration in the book—a sketch of a woman smiling while holding something.
"Anyways, the carriage that will transport you will be here any time now. I asked Leon to check it for me," she added, placing the book back on the shelf. Hange, looking at Evangeline with awe, noticed the books on the shelves. They were all written by one author under the initials—R.A.E.
Before Hange could inquire further, a voice interrupted her. "The carriage is here now, Evangeline. And the estate is ready. I also sent a letter to your home to prepare for your guests," Leon announced calmly, opening the door to Evangeline's office."Thank you, Leon," Evangeline acknowledged. "Everyone, please follow me. We have a long journey ahead."
The group followed Evangeline out of the office and into the waiting carriages. As they settled into their seats, Eren couldn't help but feel a mix of apprehension and curiosity about their destination.
The journey to the Smith estate was relatively quiet, each member of the group lost in their thoughts. Eren stared out the window, the landscape a blur as they moved swiftly. Mikasa and Armin sat beside him, offering silent support. Levi and Hange exchanged whispered discussions about their plans for Eren's Titan training.
The carriages finally pulled up to a grand estate, its gates opening to reveal a sprawling manor surrounded by lush gardens. Servants were already waiting to greet them, their expressions respectful and curious.
"Welcome to the Smith estate," Evangeline announced as she stepped out of the carriage. "Please, make yourselves at home."
Inside, the manor was even more impressive. High ceilings, ornate decorations, and an air of elegance that spoke of generations of wealth and history. Evangeline led them to a large sitting room where refreshments had been prepared.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Duchess," Erwin said formally, though his eyes were scanning the room, noting every detail. "It's my pleasure, and also it was your home too. Now, let's discuss our plans," Evangeline replied, taking a seat at the head of the table.Levi leaned forward, his eyes sharp. "We need to start Eren's training immediately. We don't have time to waste." "Agreed," Erwin said."But we also need to ensure his safety. The military police and other factions are still a threat."
"Which is why the estate is the perfect place," Evangeline interjected. "It's well-guarded, and its location is known to very few."
Hange, unable to contain her curiosity any longer, spoke up. "Evangeline, I noticed your books... R.A.E. Are you the author?" Evangeline smiled a hint of mystery in her eyes. "No, those are works by someone I know. Writing is his passion" "What does he write about?" Armin asked, intrigued."History, mostly. The hidden stories and secrets of our world," Evangeline replied. "But that's a discussion for another time. For now, let's focus on Eren and the mission at hand." The group nodded, the weight of their task settling over them. As they continued their discussions late into the night, the bonds between them grew stronger. They knew they were not just fighting for survival but for a future where such tragedies would never happen again.Evangeline watched them all, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts and plans. She knew that their journey was only beginning and that the path ahead would be fraught with danger and challenges. But with determination and unity, she believed they could overcome anything. And so, under the roof of the Smith estate, the future of humanity's fight against the Titans began to take shape.
